ADATA Technology, a leading manufacturer of high-performance DRAM modules, NAND Flash products, and mobile accessories recently forayed into mobile accessories segment. ADATA Technology is the world’s second largest vendor of DRAM memory modules, ranks among the top 20 international brands from Taiwan, and holds over 500 memory-related patents. ADATA now aims to make it big in the Indian mobile accessories segment too in the coming years. Charles Wei, Country Head of ADATA, shares their company’s policy and goals for the India’s mobile accessories market.

Charles Wei comments, “Our current focus is on providing cutting-edge mobile accessories to the Indian consumers as India is the second largest mobile phone market in world which offers a great opportunity for accessories. We want to provide premium quality accessories at affordable prices.

The Indian mobile accessories segment is huge and offers a bounty of opportunities. We want to manufacture most of our mobile accessories in India under the ‘Make in India’ program. Next year, we will widen our mobile accessories portfolio further. In the coming years, we want to invest more on brand building for mobile accessories. We have allotted a good amount of money for brand building and promotion in the Indian market. We will also expand our India manufacturing to provide a wide range of mobile accessories for the Indian market. We already have mobile cables and mobile chargers, and we will launch car chargers, power banks, ear phones, headphones, and more in the coming years. We will further expand our channel network in India.”

ADATA is their brand name for general memory and storage products and XPG is their brand name for gaming memory and storage products. ADATA is No 2 globally and No 4 in the Indian market for memory products. In India, the company has been present for the past 12 years. ADATA wants to establish itself as one of the leading brands in the Indian market in mobile accessories too.

Talking about their target market and future goals, Charles Wei adds, “For mobile accessories, our focus will be on the mid-level segment. As you know, ADATA is an international brand and we provide high quality products that meet international standards to the Indian customers at affordable prices. Our products will not be cheaper (like the grey market products) and will not be too high either; they will be value-for-money products priced in level with the top brands in this segment. We want to compete with the best brands in India’s mobile accessories segment. Coming to warranty, our different products will have different lengths of warranty—depending on the product. For products such as cables, warranty is for 1 year. But for earphones, which are bound to have a lot of wear and tear depending upon the way customers use them, we will give 3 or 6 months as most brands do. In the next 3 years, we want to be one of the top brands in the Indian mobile accessories segment.”

With a commitment towards delivering innovation, quality, and performance, ADATA products have garnered international acclaim and awards including iF Design, Red Dot Design, CES Innovation, Good Design, COMPUTEX Best Choice, and Taiwan Excellence. The hummingbird is ADATA’s brand mascot, and it represents the company’s agility to innovate and improve people’s lives through technology.
