Zavia Aims to Provide Cutting-Edge Mobile Accessories with Main Focus on Bluetooth Speakers

    In an interaction with Mobility magazine, Mr. Ravi Kumar Daryani, Director, Zavia, shares about their company’s USPs and the market trends in India, “Our USP is providing a wide range of innovative Bluetooth speakers at different price points – from Rs 200 to Rs 1200 to fit into the pockets of different users. Recently, we launched a Bluetooth speaker with a wooden body at Rs 1999 with 4000 mAh battery that can give 8 hours backup, which is selling well. Our aim is to provide the most economical Bluetooth speakers that can give superior experience at a price point, compared to other similar products available in the market, along with warranty to both the consumers and the OEMs. Great quality, aesthetic looks, durability, competitive price, good features & functionality are the hallmarks of the Zavia’s Bluetooth speakers. With first priority on Bluetooth speakers, we also focus on offering other accessories with great features and quality.”

    Currently manufacturing at their plant in Noida, the company is shifting production to a new and better equipped facility in Q2 of CY 2019 at Greater Noida. The superior infrastructure will enable them to manufacture in bigger quantities in a less expensive way.

    Talking about the opportunities for mobile accessories providers in the Indian market, Ravi Kumar reveals, “Three are many players in the market, but still there is a lot of opportunity for committed players. With the increasing competition, both from Chinese players and local players, we keep on changing our product strategy as well as working style on regular basis to keep pace, survive and succeed in the market. The current challenge is that once products are received from abroad or manufactured locally, they should be supplied to the market and sold immediately; otherwise price-fluctuations and obsoleteness can cost the providers a lot. Today, people want several features like mobile stand, wireless chargers, etc in a single device and the trend is how soon a provider can bring out products with innovative features into the market, before others could bring them out or imitate, and how fast he could sell out those products, determines the success rate of a provider.”

    Zavia has a strong distribution network, both offline and online, to cater to the urban, sub-urban, and rural market segments. Zavia has major distribution hubs in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Indore. The company also has a highly professional sales team and R&D staff. Over time, Zavia has refined its business processes and marketing techniques to meet the latest technologies and demand trends. Zavia has manpower of 125 including unskilled, skilled personnel; and staff in R&D, QC, production, marketing, etc.

    Commenting on their channel strategy and future plans, Ravi Kumar asserts, “We have a strong sales network in the North and South India regions where most of our sales come from. Some vendors share the profits all the time, but leave the losses to the partners sometimes, but we share the profits with our partners, bear all the losses ourselves if there is any such eventuality. This keeps our partners safe in all circumstances and that is the major strength of our channel policy. Once our new plant in Greater Noida becomes operational, we want to tie-up with a foreign manufacturer. Currently we are selling about 70,000 Bluetooth speakers a month and our target this year is to increase this number to 2 lakh units a month. We also have plans to tie-up with OEMs to provide accessories. We are also working on several new innovative products which we will bring out into the market in the coming months. We will also expand our operations into other regions where we are not strong yet. We aim to be one of the top players in providing innovative and wide range of Bluetooth speakers in the Indian market.”
