AIMRA (All India Mobile Retailers Association) will host a grand celebration in Kolkata, marking the 30th Anniversary of India’s first-ever mobile phone call—on 31 July 1995 at Almond Banquet, Salt Lake, Sector 5.

The 30th-anniversary celebration will bring together a distinguished gathering of 250- 300 veterans including industry leaders, policy makers, and technology influencers who have shaped India’s mobile ecosystem over the past three decades. Key representatives from telecom giants, handset manufacturers, and digital service providers will share insights into emerging trends and innovations.

This landmark event promises to be a grand and unprecedented gathering, marking the first time that all key stakeholders in India’s mobile journey will come together under one platform. From pioneers who witnessed the first mobile call in 1995 to the innovators driving India’s digital future, the celebration will span generations of progress. AIMRA Bengal’s initiative not only honours the past but also charts the course for the future, reaffirming AIMRA’s critical role in advocating for and empowering the mobile retail community. As India enters its next era of telecom innovation, this event will serve as a powerful symbol of unity and vision.

Government officials and regulators, including senior members from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and TRAI, and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will discuss policy frameworks that have driven growth, digital inclusion, and affordability. Their collective presence will foster meaningful dialogue on the future of India’s mobile sector, ensuring that the event serves as both a tribute and a think tank.
