    AIMRA DAKSHIN Organizes Panel Discussion on How to Deal with Offline Vs Online Competition

    All India Mobile Retailers Welfare Association (AIMRA) DAKSHIN organized a panel discussion table on 8 March 2019 in the evening at the Club Verde Vistra, Kolkata. The theme of the panel discussion was ‘The features of offline business vs the online business in the mobile industry for the retailers.’

    The function was addressed by President, Sri Mridul Biswas and Secretary, Rupam Ghosh of AIMRA DAKSHIN. They said that the AIMRA was formed on 19th January, 2019 to provide safeguards to the mobiles retailers in the cutthroat competition and price wars in mobiles market.

    Panelists at the discussion table were: Sri Ayan Bhattacharya, Regional Manager, OPPO; Sri Bhaskar Sengupta, Regional Manager, VlVO; Sri Safikul Mollah, Regional Manager, Nokia, Shir Bidish Chatterjee, Regional Manager, LG; Sri Tarini Das, Regional Manager, Realme; Sri Saurav Bhattacharya, President, Kolkata Mobile Distributors Association; and Sri Debabrata Sikder, President North Kolkata Mobile Retailers Association.

    Sri Vinay Dixit, President – Kolkata Mobiles Retailers Association, one of the seniormost persons in the mobile industry, functioned as Moderator of the discussion.

    All the panelists agreed on the negative impact of online distribution on the offline retailers business. Both the regional mangers from OPPO and VIVO expressed their opinion for the retailers how to deal with different commercial apps like Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Snapdeal etc and how to face the price competition. All the panelists gave opinions on how make communication with different banks ‘to use debit cards and credit cards for the customers with incentive for retailers as well as retail buyers.

    Vinay Dixit, Saurav Bhattachrya and Debabrata Sikder gave their strong opinions not to purchase the products from online retailers and to sell the same via offline.

    Sri Vinay Dixit, the moderator of the discussion, advised that all distributors and retailers to come to common understanding, work with trust and ethics, and todevelop strong bonds among members to do successful business. The opinions were unanimously supported by Sfikul Mollah, Bidish Chatterjee and Tarini Das.

    The discussion was very successful and received by the all those present with a great applause.
