Ajah Technologies is a leading distributor and supplier of mobile chargers, data cables, mobile phones, and mobile phone accessories based in Delhi.

In an Exclusive interview with Mobility Magazine, Mr. Kulwant, Director, Ajah Technologies, shared about the journey of the brand on the imperatives and the need to devise mission-oriented strategies, to ensuring quality of the products.

When was Ajah established and what was the motivation behind it?

AJAH started in 2017 with mobile batteries, where he initially launched 350 models, garnering a huge positive response in the market. It had been incorporated with the firm belief that, apart from business objectives, the owner had an underlying responsibility towards empowering people and advancing social goals.

The main aim of the organisation was to offer products at affordable prices and bring the most innovative technology to the consumer. When we started, not many brands provided good-quality mobile batteries during that time. Our brand offered a wide range of batteries, which was highly accepted and appreciated by our customers.

What motivated you to venture into the accessories market?

Ajah Technologies is known to invest in innovative technology and has the capability to advance the mobile accessory segment and deliver products for customers’ needs.

We wanted to expand our product portfolio and reach the market, which motivated us to launch accessories in the year 2020. We started out by launching chargers and cables manufactured in India.

    What is your product range?

Our company sells handsfree, mobile chargers, neckbands, and other mobile accessory products. Currently, the brand has more than 550 batteries across all verticals and tempered glass, mobile accessories, and gadgets. The major mobile accessories used by customers include power banks, USB cables, chargers, and earphones.

We have a wide range of products, including a mobile phone charger, an adaptor, a travel charger, a battery, a tempered glass screen protector for smartphones, a power bank, a mobile phone cover, a memory card, a card reader, handsfree kits for phones, and tempered glass screen protectors for smartphones.

How would you like to position your brand in the market?

Ajah lives with the philosophy to be at the forefront of innovation, design, and product value, which is something young people can identify with and provides affordable products with good quality to give our customers value for money.

We devise the products as we deeply understand the changes on the ground and have cohesively adapted accordingly, and that has shown results through the sales numbers and satisfaction reviews of their products.

What new products are in the pipeline?

Ajah has been one of the few companies that takes pleasure in producing items that are tailored to the needs of Indian consumers. Over the last few years, we have grown in categories like wearable devices, chargers, etc.

We are planning to launch an 80 W charger and a 120 W charger in the market.

What is your contribution towards the Make in India initiative?

All the brands in the market are cooperating and contributing towards the “Make in India” initiative in their own capacities. Since most of the products are currently manufactured in India, the dependency on foreign products has decreased. In the coming year, 70 to 80% of Ajah products will be made in India.

How do you see the opportunities in the Indian market?

To encourage manufacturing industries, the Indian government has announced numerous initiatives and policies, such as “Make in India,” subsidies, bank loans, imposing a ban on the import of a few goods, etc. India has also announced PLI schemes worth USD 26 billion to encourage 13 sectors of the manufacturing industry.
The market is vast, and it offers numerous opportunities to all Indian market participants.

Where do you see your brand in the next 2 years?

We plan to increase our reach in the market and keep ourselves abreast of the latest technology on the market. We don’t believe in competing with other brands, but rather in improving our product quality and gaining customer satisfaction.

What is your message for the industry?

The future is bright for brands that focus more on the quality and looks of their products. To capture the Indian market, we must make our products trendy and on par with international products.
