Amazon.in has announced the expansion of its grocery & household service – Amazon Pantry to six more cities across the country, namely Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Mysore and Pune, after launching the program in Hyderabad and Bangalore earlier this quarter.
Using Amazon Pantry customers can shop for over 5000 everyday essentials from over 250 brands of groceries and household products. Customers can build a basket and have all the products delivered in a single box at their doorsteps the following day. The new program makes it convenient for customers to stock-up for a basket of frequently purchased items while also increasing savings when compared to shopping at supermarkets.
Amazon Pantry also offers some selection to customers which is specific to pantry. The store offers essentials ranging across staples including regional brands specific for the relevant cities, categories like snack foods and biscuits to home needs like detergents & shampoo; child care products such as diapers & baby food to even pet products. All Pantry orders are shipped in special Pantry Boxes from Amazon warehouses near cities so customers can get their delivery the very next day.
Speaking on the launch, Saurabh Srivastava, Director Category Management FMCG, Amazon India said, “After the success witnessed in Hyderabad and Bangalore, we are now expanding our Amazon Pantry services across 6 more cities for our customers. Amazon Pantry makes it convenient for customers to shop for grocery and household products as it saves time spent in travel, parking, queuing and lugging heavy bags from a store to the car and from there to a customer’s home. We are optimistic about delighting our customers in these cities with the convenience, ease and the fast delivery that Amazon Pantry offers.”
The unique Pantry user experience makes it easy for the customer to build a Pantry order. Customers can browse through the different categories available on Pantry at www.amazon.in/pantry and add products to their Pantry box. A Pantry box can carry a full shopping basket of up to 15kg of products and as a customer shops, the addition of more products indicate what percentage of the Pantry box is filled, based on the product’s size and weight.
Delivery charges are Rs.49 per box but as a launch offer, Amazon.in is running a promotion of a delivery charge of only Rs. 20 per box and free delivery for Prime customers.
