In an exclusive interview with Mobility magazine, Mr. Raghav Sabharwal, CEO, Callone, and Mr. Rohit Sabharwal, Director, Callone, talked about the journey of the brand, its inception and the measures undertaken by the company to strive excellence in the market and emerge as a leader in mobile accessories.
Brief
Our brand has been in the market for the last 10 years and my father started the first mobile accessories brand in India in 1995. In 2012 he started Callone Accessories which is now a renowned brand in the Indian market. Mr. Rohit Sabharwal and his team have 18 years of experience in manufacturing, Marketing, and importing mobile accessories.
Changes in the market & customization
Consumers have become very smart and intelligent when it comes to choosing gadgets for themselves. Everyone is looking for quality products with the latest technology. Since the market is flooded with a wide variety of gadgets ranging from low range to high range, the customers are spoilt for choice.
There is need for high backup batteries, and smart chargers can quickly charge such gadgets. We are developing high-speed chargers that won’t affect the battery life of the mobile. Our chargers will be reasonably priced and consumer friendly as well.
New products
New products include EB earbuds, PD chargers, PD power banks, PD car chargers, and PD two-in-one cables. We are planning to add GAN PD chargers since it is a very revolutionary technology in the fast charger segment.
Brief on charging segment
These days all the high-end brands are not providing chargers with their phones. The chargers should be BIS certified.
GAN technology is a little highly priced because the PCB and the components are expensive. We are expecting this technology to become affordable soon. This will stop creating E-Waste in the environment, one charger will be used for multiple devices. It will take a long time to get accustomed to, but the first step has been taken toward this noble cause.
Explain the positioning
We are original equipment manufacturers working with many big brands for 28 years. We sell mobile accessories like Data cables, Chargers, etc. CallOne Imports Pvt. Ltd. and are the first brand to start mobile accessories in India since 1095.
Make In India
In Make in India, we are trying to import as much machinery as possible and setting up plants in India not only for ourselves but for others as well. We sell machinery to make consumer goods in India.
We are making the wires in India, but the connectors have to be imported, this makes us dependent on CHINA. We can create everything in India without being dependent on any other country for supplies, with government support.
Road ahead
Next month we are launching our own smartwatch, in the next two years we aspire to be a fully independent manufacturing unit that has no foreign reliance. We are partnering up with Paramount Products to develop products in India. Right now, we are catering to North Indian cities like Punjab, Haryana, and UP mainly and have started in Kerala and Bengaluru as well, plan to move to West Bengal.
Message for audience
Don’t compromise on the quality as our consumers are trusting us to provide them with good quality. A standard should be maintained in the manufacturing of the products to gain the trust of the consumers.
