Huawei has accordingly defined algorithms to come up with best camera settings for a particular scene.
The AI Beautification for Selfies feature captures the smallest details even in low-light settings. With each selfie taken, AI beautification provides 3D portrait lighting, making adjustments to better match the users’ facial features, resulting in luminous skin-tone enhancements and radiant selfies even when backlit. There is even an AI Smart Gallery, which automatically adjusts images and highlights users’ best shots in an auto-generated layout, supporting more than 15 tags for easy categorization and browsing.
The camera has the ability to capture objects and scenery at night that even the eye cannot see! Taking photos in low-light conditions usually requires a professional camera, a keen eye and sometimes even tools, such as a tripod. In the new devices, rather than using optical image stabilization, Huawei has opted to use its AI chip to provide for image stabilization –called AIS. It enables excellent low light photography – allowing the capture of images in light levels where a tripod would normally be mandatory.
The dual front camera will allow the devices to intelligently optimize and adjust the exposure to achieve the HDR effect, even in low-light environment. In addition, the dual lens captures pictures with the primary lens, and uses the secondary lens for depth of field information, resulting in an authentic bokeh effect and a diverse range of shots. With a dedicated AI chip augmented in the phone these processes speed up exponentially. The presence of AI also assists in providing rendering effects for composition, lighting, shadow, props, location, color tone, and atmosphere.
