Product Portfolios and Performance of brands
With so many brands competing and new brands entering the market, the competition has become intense. To stay and grow in the market, brands have to innovate, adapt and adjust according to the market demands.
Mr. Akhilesh Chopra, Co-Founder of Bluei, remarks, “The audio devices made by Bluei include TWS earphones, Bluetooth neckbands, portable speakers, home theater systems, party speakers, over-the-head Bluetooth headphones and wired earphones. Our latest products have features such as Bluetooth 5.4, ENC calling, Type-C fast-charging technology, and long-lasting battery life. The FY2025-26 has been successful for us, as we have expanded our product line and distribution network and received positive feedback from partners and customers across India.”

“Blaupunkt Audio India offers a wide portfolio including Boombox, soundbars, party speakers, home audio systems, TWS earbuds, headphones, and portable Bluetooth speakers. Recently, we expanded our party speaker and premium soundbar range to meet growing consumer demand. Over the last 12 months, we have witnessed strong growth across categories, driven by innovation, wider distribution, and increasing brand preference among Indian consumers,” cites Mr. Sukhesh Madaan, CEO of Envent & Blaupunkt Audio India.
Mr. Varun Gupta, Co-Founder of Goboult, explains, “Consumers today desire products that combine performance, cutting-edge designs and a strong sense of identity. Our portfolio includes state-of-the-art designed true wireless earbuds, neckbands, headphones and speakers, catering to entertainment, gaming, fitness and everyday use. Over the past year, our focus has been on creating products that stand out through design as much as technology. A defining milestone was our collaboration with Mustang to bring Mustang’s iconic design language and performance DNA into consumer technology. From the Mustang Sprint earbuds and Thunder headphones to the GT20 and GT40 speakers, every product reflects automotive inspired aesthetics with premium finishes, distinctive detailing and a bold visual identity. It has helped us build products that consumers connect with emotionally, not just functionally. The last twelve months have also been transformational for the business. Our transition from Boult to GOBOULT marked a strategic evolution into a broader personal technology brand. We strengthened our R&D capabilities, expanded our offline retail presence, continued to premiumise our portfolio and invested in original product design that reflects Indian consumer preferences.”
“Our product portfolio is built around everyday technology needs, with a strong focus on audio and mobile accessories that improve convenience and usability. Our recently launched products further strengthen our audio and charging ecosystem. In the audio segment, we offer True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds designed for smooth everyday listening, with a smart touch display case for easier control and convenience. We also provide smart mobile accessories such as multi-port power banks and wireless chargers that can power up to three devices at once, along with ultra-compact power banks built for portability without compromising on performance. Over the last 12 months, the response has been encouraging, reinforcing our focus on simple, reliable, and thoughtfully designed technology for everyday use. Consumers consistently appreciate it when new features add real value and enhance their everyday purpose, as we continue to expand across India,” clarify Mr. Hetal Shah and Dr. Jignesh Shah, Co-Founders of Mobilla.
Mr. Narayan Rathod, CEO, RD Accessories, briefs, “RD Accessories offers a comprehensive range of audio products, including wireless neckbands, True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, wired earphones, Bluetooth speakers, and other mobile audio accessories. We have recently expanded our portfolio with new wireless neckbands and TWS earbuds featuring Bluetooth 5.4, extended battery life, and enhanced sound quality. Over the last 12 months, the audio category has recorded strong growth, supported by an expanding distributor network, increased brand awareness, and growing customer trust in our product quality and after-sales-service.”
“SnapUp’s audio portfolio has been built around one philosophy – bringing premium sound experiences within the reach of aspirational Indian consumers. Our range includes True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, Bluetooth neckbands, wireless headphones, portable Bluetooth speakers, soundbars, and party speakers, catering to diverse consumer needs across music, entertainment, gaming, work, and lifestyle. One of our key launches this year has been the Groove Blast Bluetooth Speaker, developed to deliver a premium listening experience inspired by high-end audio systems while remaining affordable for the Indian consumer. Alongside this, we have continued to strengthen our TWS and neckband portfolio with improved Bluetooth connectivity, enhanced battery life, superior call clarity, and immersive sound quality. The last 12 months have been extremely encouraging for SnapUp. We have expanded our retail footprint across 600+ offline stores, strengthened our presence in Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 markets, and built a loyal customer base through our offline-first strategy. As we approach the festive season, we are preparing one of our largest product expansion phases, with multiple new launches across the audio category,” puts forward Mr. Varin Agarwal, Chief Snapper, SnapUp.
Mr. Jai Nebhnani and Mr. Prateek Nebhnani, Directors at SSBright, explain, “FY2025-26 was a defining year for SSBRIGHT. We didn’t just want to release new products; we wanted to refine how our customers experience their daily routines. Our latest portfolio reflects a transition from selling simple accessories to offering a reliable daily ecosystem. We expanded our Wearables & TWS lines to focus on extreme longevity – like our LEOPARD neckbands that boast 200 days of standby time for people constantly on the move. We also grew our Portable Audio range, from accessible daily companions like our ZING and ASTRO series to our massive, room-filling PARTY BOX. Finally, to keep all this running, we fortified our Power Ecosystem with ultra-durable, fast-charging cables and adapters. Ultimately, this year was about proving that premium aesthetics and rock-solid reliability don’t have to come with an exorbitant price tag.”
The latest trends and consumer preferences in the audio segment
Today, consumers want premium features at affordable prices. When all the functionalities are the same, users want attractive designs and durable devices.
Mr. Akhilesh Chopra of Bluei cites, “Nowadays, consumers expect wireless technologies providing comfort and better quality of calls, long battery life, fast-charging, and fashionable designs. There is continuous demand for TWS earphones, ENC, low-latency mode, and portable speakers. In addition, many customers prefer established companies providing innovative products and full after-sales support.”
“Consumers today are looking for immersive sound experiences, portability, longer battery life, and seamless connectivity. Demand for premium audio, karaoke-enabled party speakers like Dolby-powered soundbars, and feature-rich TWS devices continues to rise. AI powered features, low latency gaming modes, and stylish designs are also gaining popularity,” states Mr. Sukhesh Madaan of Envent & Blaupunkt Audio India.

Mr. Varun Gupta of Goboult asserts, “Earbuds have had a quiet identity shift. Fashion and design are now the first conversation, not the last. People want products that look good on the ear before they even think about what goes in the ear, though functionalities such as sound quality, ANC, ENC, call performance, battery life, etc still matter.”
“While great sound quality remains important, people today are looking for products that fit effortlessly into their everyday lives, offering a hassle-free experience with reliable connectivity, long battery life, all-day comfort, and seamless performance across different environments. We’re also seeing growing interest in features such as noise cancellation and smooth switching between devices, as consumers increasingly rely on a single audio product for work, entertainment, and communication throughout the day. From a market perspective, buyers are willing to invest in quality products with meaningful features, dependable performance, thoughtful design, and strong value in return. Looking ahead, the focus will be on creating audio experiences that are smarter, more intuitive, and more personalized that adapt to user preferences and enhance convenience, making every day listening more seamless and enjoyable,” express Mr. Hetal Shah and Dr. Jignesh Shah of Mobilla.

Mr. Narayan Rathod of RD Accessories remarks, “Consumers today seek audio products that deliver excellent sound quality, long battery life, and seamless connectivity. Features such as Bluetooth 5.4, Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), AI-powered calling, low-latency gaming mode, fast charging, and ergonomic lightweight designs are becoming increasingly popular. There is also a growing preference for stylish products that offer premium features at affordable prices.”
“The audio segment is witnessing rapid evolution, driven by changing consumer lifestyles. Today’s users expect audio devices to seamlessly integrate into their daily routines, whether for work, entertainment, fitness or travel. Key trends include Bluetooth 5.4 and upcoming Bluetooth 6.0 adoption, AI-powered Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), low-latency gaming modes, spatial audio, dual-device connectivity, and extended battery performance. Consumers are increasingly seeking devices that combine premium sound quality with intuitive usability. Another noticeable trend is the growing preference for compact, stylish, and lightweight devices that deliver premium experiences without premium pricing. At the same time, offline retail continues to influence buying decisions, especially in Bharat markets, where customers prefer to experience the product before making a purchase,” explains Mr. Varin Agarwal of SnapUp.
Mr. Jai Nebhnani and Mr. Prateek Nebhnani of SSBright state, “We don’t add features just for the sake of marketing; we add them if they solve real consumer friction. As people need to take clear calls in chaotic environments, we’ve integrated Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) into our SHINE and WAVE earbuds. On the power side, safety is the ultimate trend. We integrate Smart IC technology and rigorous short-circuit protection into our fast chargers, ensuring that while our users charge faster, their devices remain completely protected against surges. We believe audio should fit the user’s personality. For instance, we created the HUMMER Wireless Speaker, a novelty lifestyle piece shaped like an off-road vehicle with functional RGB headlights, designed for automotive enthusiasts. On the purely functional side, we developed the SIREN Solar-Power Megaphone. It’s an off-grid utility tool featuring a 500W output, built-in flashlight, and solar charging – built specifically for event management, security, and outdoor utility. It’s our way of showing that SSBRIGHT engineering can handle the extremes.”
Target segments and differentiators of audio product providers
Target-specific products often drive a brand’s success. When everything in a product being nearly similar, differentiators give the edge to the brand.
Mr. Akhilesh Chopra of Bluei says, “Our customers are students, professionals, gamers, sports lovers and music fans, as well as all distributors, wholesalers, corporations and retailers. Our advantages over competitors are an innovative product-line, reasonable prices, adequate quality, and distribution network covering all India.”
“Our target audience ranges from young professionals and music enthusiasts to families looking for superior home entertainment solutions. Blaupunkt stands out through its German audio heritage, premium sound engineering, innovative features, durable build quality, and strong value proposition across price segments,” briefs Mr. Sukhesh Madaan of Envent & Blaupunkt Audio India.
Mr. Varun Gupta of Goboult comments, “Today, most audio products in the market are looking identical – same shapes, same colourways and same everything, but we wanted to be the brand that walks differently. We started asking different questions – not just ‘does it sound good’ but ‘does it look like something you would want to own’ and not just ‘does it work’ but ‘does it feel like it was designed for you.’ Our Mustang series is where that thinking became visible. It was not a licensing deal dressed up as a product. It was a design statement. People picked up the series because of how the products looked; and the way they felt in their hands. That is the tech collectible energy we were going after and it worked. Our products are designed in India, built to stand on any global shelf; original, not derivative; and the products that people remember.”
“Our target audience includes students, young professionals, fitness enthusiasts, gamers, and everyday smartphone users looking for reliable and value-for-money audio products. Our key differentiators are consistent product quality, competitive pricing, wide compatibility, dependable after-sales support, and a strong pan-India distribution network. We focus on delivering premium features while maintaining affordability,” cites Mr. Narayan Rathod of RD Accessories.
Mr. Varin Agarwal of SnapUp puts forward, “SnapUp primarily serves aspirational consumers across Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 cities in India – students, young professionals, first-time technology buyers, and families looking for dependable technology at accessible prices. Our biggest differentiator lies in our offline-first approach. Rather than relying solely on digital marketing, we have built a strong retail presence where consumers can interact with products before purchasing. This creates trust and confidence, especially in markets where purchase decisions are influenced by product experience. Additionally, our focus remains on delivering essential innovation – products that prioritize sound quality, durability, battery life, and user experience over unnecessary complexity.”
“Our core differentiator is our commitment to the ‘grind.’ Our tagline is Enjoy Music Everywhere Anytime, and we engineer our products to ensure that is actually possible. We don’t strip away essential features just because a product is in our economy line. For example, even our accessible entry-level speakers come standard with multi-device TWS pairing and versatile inputs. Furthermore, we design for physical reality – our cables are built to be anti-knotted and stretch-resistant, and our wearables are built to handle sweat. We are building tech for the real world, not just for a showroom shelf,” state Mr. Jai Nebhnani and Mr. Prateek Nebhnani of SSBright.

Mr. Hetal Shah and Dr. Jignesh Shah of Mobilla detail, “Our primary target audience includes young professionals, students, commuters, and everyday users who rely on audio products throughout the day for entertainment, work, gaming and communication. What differentiates us is our focus on purposeful innovation. Rather than adding features for the sake of it, we aim to introduce technology that genuinely enhances the user experience. A great example is our recently launched MBuds Elite, which features a smart interactive touch display case, allowing users to access controls and key functions more conveniently. Combined with features such as ANC up to 32dB, ENC with four microphones, Spatial Audio Control and more, it delivers a premium experience while remaining accessible to a wider audience. At the core of our brand is a simple philosophy: making advanced technology practical, intuitive, and relevant to everyday life.”
Opportunities and challenges in the audio space
Wherever there are opportunities such as expanding market and increasing demand, there are also challenges. Intense competition, price-wars, shrinking margins, and increasing costs are some of the challenges.

Mr. Akhilesh Chopra of Bluei briefs, “In the Indian audio market, there has been a surge in demand for wireless gadgets, attributable to entertainment, gaming, fitness, and hybrid work. The most significant challenges are stiff rivalry, changing technology, and cost-conscious consumers. We expect innovation, quality, and customer trust to power growth in the long term.”
Mr. Sukhesh Madaan of Envent & Blaupunkt Audio India cites, “India’s audio market continues to grow rapidly, creating significant opportunities across personal and home entertainment categories. However, the industry also faces challenges such as intense competition, rapid technology evolution, and the need to continuously educate consumers about the benefits of premium audio experiences.”
“The opportunity is real and it is large. Today, more people are upgrading every year. They are not just upgrading for better sound; they want something that looks better, feels better, and says something about who they are. The days of boring looking TWS devices are over. The challenge is that the category has become a crowded room. Next, ANC, ENC, low latency, etc are no longer differentiators, they are entry points. When everything looks the same, the only thing left to compete on is design, build quality and consistency,” reveals Mr. Varun Gupta of Goboult.
Mr. Hetal Shah and Dr. Jignesh Shah of Mobilla express, “The opportunity in the audio space is bigger than ever because audio has become an integral part of people’s daily lives. Consumers are spending more time with audio devices throughout the day; they are expecting richer, more seamless experiences. At the same time, consumer expectations are evolving rapidly. People want better performance, longer battery life, smarter features, and great designs, all at a price that offers real value. For us, the challenge isn’t just keeping pace with technology; it’s ensuring that every innovation genuinely enhances the user experience and makes their life easier. At Mobilla, we believe that staying close to our consumers and understanding their evolving needs is key to creating products that build lasting connections and make a meaningful difference in everyday life.”
Mr. Narayan Rathod of RD Accessories briefs, “The Indian audio accessories market continues to grow rapidly due to increasing smartphone adoption, digital entertainment, online learning, remote work, and mobile gaming. At the same time, the industry faces challenges such as intense price competition, counterfeit products, rapidly changing technology, and evolving consumer expectations. Continuous innovation and maintaining high-quality standards are essential for long-term success.”
“The Indian audio market presents tremendous opportunities as digital content consumption continues to rise across music, gaming, OTT platforms, and remote work. Increasing smartphone penetration and higher disposable incomes are encouraging consumers to upgrade from wired to wireless audio devices. However, the market is also becoming highly competitive, with price wars and feature overload making differentiation increasingly difficult. Another challenge is educating consumers to evaluate products beyond specifications, focusing instead on reliability, sound quality, and long-term performance. Brands that combine innovation with trust, strong after-sales support, and meaningful consumer experiences will be best positioned for sustainable growth,” cites Mr. Varin Agarwal of SnapUp.

Mr. Jai Nebhnani and Mr. Prateek Nebhnani of SSBright comment, “The Opportunity: Consumers, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, are tired of cheap, unbranded proudcts that break after a month. There is a massive, eager market waiting for a brand that offers the durability and premium feel of a top-tier company, but at a price point that is attractive to the average worker, student, or traveler. The Challenge: The biggest hurdle delivering high quality and durability, while keeping prices accessible to the masses.”
Importing vs Manufacturing in India
To import or to manufacture is a critical decision for the brands. Local manufacturing gives better control over quality, adaptation and delivery times, but manufacturing puts extra burden in terms planning, procurement of raw materials and managing production processes.
Mr. Sukhesh Madaan of Envent & Blaupunkt Audio India states, “For Blaupunkt, it’s still a mix of make in India and import. Earlier, our products were mostly imported but now the proportion of Made in India products has risen significantly. In India, we have tied up with various manufacturers spread across Mumbai, Delhi and Noida.”
“Bluei takes a balanced approach in supporting the Make in India initiative while importing certain components to achieve high-quality manufacturing standards and continuously upgrading our local manufacturing capabilities and ensuring strict quality monitoring in order to be able to provide customers with reliable products,” comments Mr. Akhilesh Chopra of Bluei.
Mr. Varun Gupta of Goboult clarifies, “We have steadily increased manufacturing in India over the last few years by working with local manufacturing partners. Manufacturing in India also helps us respond faster to market demand, improve quality control and shorten development cycles. We’re putting more emphasis on designing products in India. How it looks. How it feels. Whether it was built to last or built to sell once. The other challenge is delivering real quality at a price that Indian consumers find fair.”
Mr. Narayan Rathod of RD Accessories explains, “The Indian audio accessories market continues to grow rapidly due to increasing smartphone adoption, digital entertainment, online learning, remote work, and mobile gaming. At the same time, the industry faces challenges such as intense price competition, counterfeit products, rapidly changing technology, and evolving consumer expectations. Continuous innovation and maintaining high-quality standards are essential for long-term success.”
“At Mobilla, we take immense pride in manufacturing our audio products in India, our commitment to contributing to India’s growing manufacturing ecosystem and supporting the vision of a self-reliant nation. Building products in India allows us to stay closer to our consumers, understand their needs better, and maintain greater control over quality and innovation. As an Indian brand, we see this as a way of giving back to the country that has supported our growth by creating opportunities, strengthening local capabilities, and contributing to economic development,” brief Mr. Hetal Shah and Dr. Jignesh Shah of Mobilla.

Mr. Varin Agarwal of SnapUp comments, “SnapUp is committed to supporting India’s manufacturing ecosystem through its association with Startron, our manufacturing arm. We are steadily strengthening our Make in India capabilities by manufacturing products locally while adhering to global quality standards. Local manufacturing enables greater flexibility in product development, faster response to market demand, improved quality control, and stronger supply chain resilience. It also allows us to develop products that are specifically designed for the preferences and usage patterns of Indian consumers while contributing to the country’s vision of becoming a global electronics manufacturing hub.”
Future Plans
Most brands are optimistic about their growth, ability to adapt and stay ahead of competition despite challenges.
Mr. Akhilesh Chopra of Bluei states, “In the future, we plan to grow our high-end audio product range by launching new TWS earbuds, neckbands, and speakers with innovative technologies and higher performance. In addition, we intend to develop our presence in Tier II and Tier III cities, expand the sales network, and continue investing in innovations in order to provide better services to our clients.”
“We plan to further strengthen our presence in India with new launches across soundbars, party speakers, and personal audio categories. We are also focused on expanding our retail and online footprint, introducing more innovative products, and enhancing the overall consumer experience through technology-driven solutions,” briefs Mr. Sukhesh Madaan of Envent & Blaupunkt Audio India.
Mr. Varun Gupta of Goboult expresses, “With audio as a priority category, we will continue to launch more products across earbuds, headphones and speakers with stronger design, better materials and meaningful improvements rather than adding features just for the sake of it. The response to our Mustang range has shown us that people appreciate products with a clear design identity. We’re also expanding our offline presence across India because many customers still prefer to experience a product before buying it. Our goal is to build products that can compete globally while designed to deliver what customers actually need.”
“We plan to further expand our audio portfolio with next-generation neckbands, TWS earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, and other innovative audio accessories. We are also focused on strengthening our presence across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, expanding our distributor and retail network, growing our online presence, and continuing to invest in product innovation, branding, and customer experience. Our vision is to become one of India’s most trusted mobile accessories and audio brands,” states Mr. Narayan Rathod of RD Accessories.
Mr. Varin Agarwal of SnapUp sums up, “We are expecting an exciting growth during the upcoming festive season for which we are significantly expanding our product portfolio with multiple new launches across Bluetooth speakers, party speakers, TWS earbuds, neckbands, headphones, and other smart audio solutions, bringing the latest technologies to consumers at accessible price-points. Beyond audio, we are also strengthening our presence in smart wearables and expanding into the home appliances category, enabling SnapUp to evolve into a comprehensive lifestyle technology brand. Every new category is being developed around the same philosophy that has defined us from the beginning – premium experiences, dependable quality, and honest pricing. On the market expansion front, we will continue investing in our offline-first retail network while strengthening our presence across modern trade and e-commerce platforms. Our focus remains on making innovative technology accessible to consumers across Bharat. Our vision is not just to launch more products, but to create a trusted technology brand that grows alongside the evolving needs of Indian consumers.”
“Our roadmap is focused on deepening our roots across regional markets. We plan to aggressively expand our high-wattage power ecosystem to keep up with the demands of modern smartphones. In audio, we will continue expanding our ENC-enabled TWS footprint and our highly successful 15W economy speaker lines. Ultimately, our goal is to make SSBRIGHT a household name synonymous with reliability, ensuring that no matter where our customers are, they have the power and the audio they need to fuel their day,” conclude Mr. Jai Nebhnani and Mr. Prateek Nebhnani of SSBright,
In a Nutshell Overall, the brands are very optimistic about the audio devices market as the market is growing fast with increasing disposable incomes and growing desire among the youth for audio devices. The challenges remain increasing competition, growing price-wars, and shrinking margins. The bottomline, the brands should quickly adapt to rapidly changing demands of the market. The premium features a year back are become common today. Brands have to be innovative and inventive to stay and
