Lava International has been honoured by Government of Uttar Pradesh hiring maximum number of apprentices in the State. The Award was presented by The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath. The company hired a total number of 710 Apprentices from Uttar Pradesh in the last year as per the guidelines of Apprenticeship Act – 1961.
Lava International was awarded for its efforts towards skill development at a ceremony organised in Lucknow-UP, presided by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of UP, Shri Yogi Adityanath. Other dignitaries present for the ceremony included Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister of UP Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister of UP Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Cabinet Minister Shri Chetan Chauhan (Vocational Education & Skill Development) UP Government, State Minister Shri Suresh Pasi (Vocational Education & Skill Development) UP Government and Director Employment & Training Shri Rajendra Prasad (IAS) UP Government. The award ceremony was organised on the occasion of ‘World Youth Skills Day’.
On receiving the award, Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal, Chief Manufacturing Officer, Lava International said, “We are honoured to receive the award which recognises our skill development initiatives aimed at providing better employment opportunities to the youth through professional training, ensuring a bright future for them. This award further strengthens Lava’s commitment towards ‘Make in India’ and ‘Skill Development’ initiatives”.
“Last year, we hired 710 Apprentices from UP and for this, our team travelled rigorously across the State covering 124 campuses across cities like Varanasi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Kanpur, Gorakhpur etc. To ensure we cover every stretch of the State, we also went to smaller towns like Jaunpur, Jamunia, Azamgarh, Sonebhadra, Ghazipur, Basti and Mirzapur. We thank the state government of UP who extended immense support under the UP Skill development Mission and aim to continue working closely, contributing towards the skill development vision of the Government”, he further added.
The shortlisted apprentices from Uttar Pradesh get training that enables them to perform well in mobile phone manufacturing processes such as Assembly/ Quality/ Process Engineering/ Testing and more. This ensures that they are industry ready post receiving the requisite training. The select apprentices are also trained on 5S, Kaizen, Soft skills and behavioral skills. Lava provides employment opportunities to the deserving apprentices, as per the positions available in the manufacturing facilities. Till now, the company has provided employment to over 230 apprentices in the organization. The overall capacity of the two existing Lava manufacturing plants in Noida has grown to over 36 million phones per year.
