LUFTQI is a Taiwanese electronics company, launched in 2018 guided by the slogan of ‘good air, anytime and everywhere’ provides solutions for air purification in offices and homes. In an interaction with Mobility, Mr. Titus Chang, Co-Founders & Marketing Director LUFTQI, explains the evolving trends in air purifiers and the various initiatives & technologies of LUFTQI that help to accelerate the digital transformation in air purification.
Brief on how you have been inspired to launch comfortable & effective air purifiers?
Starting in 2018, we are the only company which had invented and designed the smallest and filter-less air purifier that combines two technologies: ‘Electro-static dust collection’ and ‘Photo-catalysis’ to clean the air we breathe. The electro-static dust collection produces 20 million ions and allows PM2.5/PM10 to be actively trapped in the metal mesh. This novel approach works effectively to decompose the organic matter in the virus-filled infectious droplets.
How is your latest device different from those of others?
We launched our second generation LUFT Duo — featuring increased cleaning efficiency, lower noise level, and a new metal mesh design. Now we’re doing it a third time – doubling LUFT Cube’s capabilities while still maintaining its tiny size.LUFT Duo is the world’s smallest molecular purifier. It uses UVA LED and Titanium Oxide/Zinc Oxide to zap dust, pollen, mould, and pathogens down to the molecule. It’s 1/10th the size of other purifiers in the same category, but less than half the price.We have 2 models of LUFTQI products- the smaller one is for small space and the bigger is for broader spaces.
When you design an air purifier, what key aspects do you focus on?
Key focus is how efficient it is at purifying the airclose to personal breathing area, and how small size it can be (so that it can be placed on the desk occupying little space). Secondly, one can put it in the car holder so that you can breathe pure air. One can also purify air while sleeping at night, by turning on the night mode setting. In night mode, the devise has dimmer light and quieter running sound and lets you sleep well until morning.
How your technologies have disrupted the air purifier market?
We developed revolutionary photocatalysis nanotechnology to break down and destroy VOCs, bacteria, and pollen which are allergic factors. In industry, we are using UVA LED together with photocatlyst and they can control the air and prevent cancer.
The LUFT Duo is a new generation of the LUFTQI serial air purifier, which as has an expanded range of 120 square feet; you only need one LUFT Duo for enjoying your personal fresh space. And the SPP (Semiconductor-light Photocatalytic Purification) Technology is an evolution from PCO (Photocatalytic Oxidation). SPP Tech is a very powerful air purification technology to decompose and neutralize pollutants, odors, smoke and unpleasant smells.
What is your marketing and distribution plan? How do you see the Indian market?
We are currently focusing on Taiwan, India, Japan and Europe agency distributors to cater to the specific country markets. We focus on e-commerce first and then the country segment.India is a huge market and our air purifiers being energy efficient, safe and portable energy and well-suited to the Indian market.
What are the new products we can expect in the coming year?
We are looking to incorporate new technology into the third generation; we are coming up with forced ALP devices which can sense the air quality. The fourth edition will be AI-based.
How do you give service?
We feel that customer satisfaction is a must; we provide a 1-year warranty. Next, our machines can be easily replaceable.

Our products are certified by CES innovation Award and 2020 Taiwan Excellence Award and CE, FCC certificates; CFC for the United States, Japan & Korea. Our second Indiegogo campaign product, the LUFT Duo, was honored with aTaiwan Excellence award in 2021.For Bios One, LUFT Duo has been awardedby Symbol of National Quality in the Epidemic Prevention Category by Research Center for Biotechnology and Medicine Policy in Taiwan.
