Government to Allocate USD 10 bn to Take Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing to Next Level

The display market is expected to reach USD 15 billion by 2025. The Indian government has announced a $10 billion investment in the semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem a strategic move to drive the ecosystem.
This scheme aims to nurture domestic semiconductor design companies, startups, and MSMEs by off ering up to 50 percent reimbursement on eligible expenditures and a deployment-linked incentive ranging from 4 percent to 6 percent of net sales turnover over fi ve years. It includes additional support for design infrastructure, including access to prototyping and post-silicon validation facilities.
At the state level, this issueís focus is on Telangana which is a hub for information technology (IT) and pharmaceutical sectors. The state policy aims to make Hyderabad a hub for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, and to create employment for 120,000 people through shared mobility, charging infrastructure development, and manufacturing activities.
