During an interaction with Mobility Magazine, Mr. Varun Agarwal, Director, Mobatree, explains how their brand grew since inception, their key focus areas, and how they plan to see the Mobatree brand in the near future. Mobatree is one of the leading manufacturers of mobile batteries for the past 10 years and it also offers a plethora of other mobile accessories like data cables, chargers, etc.
Q. What was your vision for your brand when you launched it?
The main aim of the Mobatree brand when we started was to address the issues of the customers by providing the best technology at affordable prices. Our Mission behind the MoBatree was to provide users a platform to get a wide range of mobile accessories at one point at different price points. Mobatree has been found to be a value-for-money brand since inception.
Q. How many models of batteries do you have?
We have more than 2000 battery models and the requirement varies from customer to customer. Apart from that, we have chargers, earphones, cables, etc. We also have iPhone data cables, single side micro cables, 3-in-1 cables, etc, and also cable according to the needs of the particular customers. Our aim is to make India import-free in terms of lithium-ion batteries.
Q. Brief us about your presence and network across India?
Our network is present both online and offline. Our distributors are from the northeast to all across India. We have a robust supply network and plan to expand further.
Q. What is your warranty and service policy?
Our policy is to give the best feel and experience of our products to the customers and stay a step ahead on product features and competition. We thrive on quality so it’s not a big challenge for us as customers always reciprocate with loyalty.
Q. What is your take on Make in India and what is your own Make in India policy?
Make in India policy is aimed to create a conducive environment for investments in the domestic manufacturing segment, develop a modern and efficient infrastructure, and to make India self-reliant. The initiative has targeted 25 sectors in the economy. Job creation, skill enhancement, and transforming India into a global design and manufacturing hub are other objectives.
Make in India is a very good policy as it gives a boost to the Indian manufacturers to manufacture their products within India and will enhance the employment opportunities for the local people but also strengthen the domestic economy.
Q. How is your manufacturing infrastructure?
We have an advanced manufacturing infrastructure. Our aim is to give the best of technological breakthroughs to our customers. We will invest more into our manufacturing in future.
Q. How do you see the future of the battery industry in India?
The mobile battery industry in India is huge and companies are accelerating plans to produce lithium-ion cells in the country. The battery manufacturing industry in India is at a nascent stage at present. The country holds the potential to emerge as the key manufacturer of Li-ion batteries over the next few years. The market needs are increasing and we feel that the industry will boom in the coming years. There are several Indian companies in this segment, but there is intense competition from the Chinese companies. So, it’s imperative that Indian brands should compete with them, become global-level brands. We offer batteries with international standards.
Q. What is the roadmap of Mobatree for the next 5 years?
We feel that the next five years will be very dynamic and challenging. We will continue to focus on quality and customer needs. We aim to be one of the top 10 mobile accessories companies in India.
Q. What message do you want to give your partners?
We should realise that we should not stop, we should keep ongoing. Next, as a brand, we should cooperate and coordinate with the other brands so that we can successfully face the challenges.
