Remember when Motorola teased a bit of augmented reality with the Buggy Night and Windy Day?. Motorola’s animated story telling app, Motorola Spotlight, has been appraised with an update. The update brings along a new animated story titled ‘Duet’ that’s been created in collaboration with former Disney animator, Glen Keane.
Duet is a love story between two characters, Mia and Tosh taking them from birth through the early stages of life. The twist to the story is that rather than it being a full game where you control, or a straight video, where you just watch, you are given control of the camera. You can move the camera around by moving your Moto X in real life, and find new things about the story in different spots.
“Duet” is available globally as Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group third Spotlight Story on the new Moto X and Moto X (1st Gen). “Duet” is an interactive love story that brings the timeless art of hand-drawn animation to a new mobile format. Glen spent 38 years animating some of Disney’s most beloved characters for movies like “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled.” Today, Glen shares what it was like to work on “Duet” in his own words. We hope you enjoy.
