OUD Plans Expansion – Increase product portfolio, enhance distribution network & invest in research

OUD is India’s fastest growing mobile & Sound Accessories brand. During an exclusive interaction with Mobility Magazine, Mr. Arvind Singh Rathore, Director, Oud Mobiles discusses in detail the journey so far, the opportunities in manufacturing and revealed his future goals.

1. Discuss the path covered till now.

OUD was launched on August 1, 2018, with its distribution limited to local shops. Then, with the onset of the 2020 lockdown, we transitioned to a more professional approach with the assistance of super stockists and distributors, expanding our product range. Currently, we offer a variety of products including neckbands, headphones, earbuds, data cables, power banks, smartwatches, and Bluetooth speakers. Additionally, we have launched more than 400 varieties of mobile batteries and a wide range of touch LCD combos. Recently, we further expanded our offerings by introducing a significant range of tempered glass products.


2. Explain your take on manufacturing in India.

Manufacturing in India presents a unique set of opportunities and challenges. We firmly believe in the potential of the Indian manufacturing sector, which is bolstered by government initiatives like Make in India. This initiative not only promotes local manufacturing but also enhances the overall economic landscape.


3. How do you tap manufacturing opportunities in India?

Tapping into manufacturing opportunities in India requires careful planning and strategic partnerships. The PLI Production-Linked Incentive, scheme also focuses on developing the core manufacturing sector in line with global standards.


4. How do you see the scope of smartphones now?

The scope of smartphones continues to expand, driven by technological advancements, increasing internet penetration, and evolving consumer preferences. As the smartphone market continues to expand, brands must innovate and differentiate themselves to stay competitive and capture new opportunities for growth.


5. Do you have any plans for foldable phones?

Foldable phones represent an exciting frontier in smartphone innovation, offering users enhanced versatility and functionality. While we do not have specific plans for foldable phones at this time, we continuously monitor market trends and technological developments to evaluate potential opportunities.


6. Discuss what is the road ahead.

Looking ahead, our focus remains on innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth. We will continue to expand our product portfolio, enhance our distribution network, and invest in research to stay ahead of market trends. Our aim is to strengthen our position as a leading player in the mobile and sound accessories market.
