Nokia India head P Balaji has put in his papers, due to personal reason according to Nokia’s statement.According to the company statement they will look for potential candidates for the position, Ajey Mehta, the current Head of Sales Operations- India Middle East and Africa, will be the acting Area Head for India. Ajey will continue in his current role at the same time. He is a veteran in the company, having joined Nokia 10 years ago.
He has held several key roles in this period including heading Retail in Singapore, a stint in the global Retail team and leading Sales Ops for the erstwhile SEAP region.Balaji will continue to be an Advisor to MDG and Ajey in the transition. He will be with us till Oct 2014.
Balaji joined Nokia in October 2012 as Managing Director, India Area, he has been instrumental in helping driving momentum behind Lumia, building the X family of phones as well as strengthening Nokia’s Retail execution in the country.
