PMI Distributes Seed Cards to honour ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Initiative in Delhi.

In keeping with the Hon. Prime Minister’s vision of Green Viksit Bharat, two historic projects were introduced to promote eco-friendly public transit and sustainable lifestyle.

In addition to launching 200 electric DEVi buses by PMI Electro in Delhi on World Environment Day, Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also planted a banyan sapling at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali Park as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, which emphasises the value of biodiversity, climate resilience, and ecological harmony. This event marks a significant milestone in India’s transition to zero-emission mobility and reaffirms his commitment to environmental stewardship.

His simultaneous acts of planting a tree and introducing electric buses are a blatant appeal for a Green Viksit Bharat.

As part of its “Green Routes” program, PMI distributed 10,000 eco-friendly seed cards with wildflower and basil seeds in commemoration of the Hon. Prime Minister’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” effort, embracing his vision for a better future.

These seed cards should sprout in two weeks and are intended to be sown straight into the ground. To encourage broader participation, citizens were urged to tag PMI’s LinkedIn profile in selfies they took while sowing the seeds. In keeping with the Prime Minister’s appeal for environmental stewardship and furthering the common goal of a cleaner, greener Bharat, this initiative encourages people to grow and care for greenery in their homes and communities.

Speaking at the flag-off and launch of the Prime Minister’s ambitious project “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, Dr. Aanchal Jain, CEO of PMI Electro Mobility stated:

We at PMI Electro Mobility are honoured and incredibly honoured to be a part of India’s green revolution. The Hon. Prime Minister’s announcement of our electric buses on World Environment Day is a huge honour for us.

The Prime Minister’s visionary ambition for a Green Viksit Bharat is embodied in the PMI’s journey. In addition to influencing the national agenda, his visionary projects and revolutionary policies have guided our work. In many respects, PMI has developed from this vision and is still driven by his ideas about innovation and sustainability.

In a modest but sincere effort to support the inspirational project “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, we sent out 10,000 eco-friendly seed cards, urging people to honour Mother Earth by planting and caring for greenery.

Across the nation, our electric buses are already having an impact, actively lowering emissions and advancing our transition to a cleaner, smarter future. Let’s reaffirm our collective commitment to preserving the environment on this Environment Day, creating the foundation for a future that the following generation will proudly embrace.

Following today’s flag-off, PMI Electro Mobility currently runs more than 2,500 electric buses in 31 cities nationwide. Over the course of their lifetime, these e-buses are expected to reduce more than 3 million metric tonnes of CO₂, or more than 250,000 metric tonnes each year.
