SoROO is an India’s progressive gadget accessory and consumer electronics brand that offers high quality mobile accessories. During an interaction with Mobility Magazine, Mr. Gulshan Ahuja, CEO, SOROO, elucidates their brand’s principles & positioning, the changing trends, their brand journey and future path.
How have the trends changed in the accessories segment over the years?
Today most electronic devices like smartphones, laptops, wearable electronics, and other portable devices, require wireless power charging. The development of efficient charging technologies for portable electronics and wearable gadgets are projected to drive the electronic wireless charging market. Consumers are expecting easy-to-use charging alternatives with shorter charging periods and higher positioning flexibility. As a result, the fast charging is in great demand and manufacturers are concentrating more on providing seamless charging methods to improve the consumer experience, giving rise to a wide range of chargers like PD Chargers and QC Chargers, to name a few. Now there is a shift from wireless charging to fast charging technologies like PD chargers, QC chargers, Qualcom VOOC chargers, etc which enable the consumers to charge the devices in just 15-20 mins.
Which are your key focus areas?
The major factors determining the growth of smartwatches are the increasing Internet penetration and smartphone sales. Furthermore, growing health awareness among individuals as a result of the increasing occurrence of chronic and lifestyle illnesses is encouraging global demand for wireless fitness devices such as smartwatches. Smartwatches are linked to fitness apps that can provide detailed information about an individual’s overall health and track their dietary health.
Tempered glass refers to a type of safety glass that is treated by tempering to impart high durability and strength to smartphones. The tempering process, involving thermal or chemical treatments, compresses the glass surface, thereby reducing the risks of breakage. Tempered glass is more efficient than the conventional annealed glass in terms of heat resistivity, design versatility, lightweight, scratch resistance and tensile strength. Keeping in mind the needs of the customers, we plan to launch 7-8 models of smartwatches and tempered glass.
