SPPL has a factory in Noida and they will be launching their new manufacturing unit which is under construction right now in Hapur within 6 months down the road.
During an exclusive interaction with Mr. Avneet Singh Marwah, Director, and CEO at Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd., he talks about the growth of the company, the role of technology, and government policies to boost manufacturing in India.
With a ₹300 crore initial investment, Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL) is constructing a second plant in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, to produce televisions. Being the sole brand licensing partner in India, SPPL manufactures LED TVs for Blaupunkt, Kodak, Thomson, and Westinghouse TV brands.
For Kodak SPPL has created a very strong brand recall, which makes it one of the top 10 recall brands in the world. And one of the major reasons to introduce Kodak was that it was used by all the segments, all the character categories, and all the sections, from urban to upper middle class to lower middle class.
Mr. Avneet Singh Marwah is the CEO of Super Plastronics PVT Ltd. (SPPL), the exclusive brand licensee of Blaupunkt TV in India and Westinghouse TV in India. The brand has elevated itself from digital photo to digital video and then to TV.
Avneet shares, “The key mantra of our success is the technology that we use, which is the most upgraded and has emerged as one of the best televisions, including QLEDs of cooling Q-Leads in GTV. We have recently launched the Matrix QLED series, and it is doing quite well in the market and got sold out in six to seven hours.”
Innovation is DNA
SPPL has a history of introducing new technologies to the market, and the manufacturer believes that it will prove to be a game-changer in the future of technology. SPPL’s brand Kodak has recently launched Matrix QLED TV in India.
Google TVs comes with various enhanced features, such as support for multiple adult and child user profiles, manual and voice controls for smart home devices, and a personalised home screen for each user. SPPL’s TVs comprise a massive selection of smart TV apps. A strong focus has been laid on personalised content. Viewers are also enabled to save their movies and TV series to their profiles on their phones. In addition to these, the Google TV app can be used to control the television unit, and there are smart home controls for lights and cameras. The Google TV platform assists in filtering and showcasing options tailored to users’ preferences along with content streaming across the top OTT platforms and can also help parents in applying content restrictions to their children’s profiles.
Matrix QLED TVs are available in three sizes: 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch, with prices starting at INR 33,999. These will be available on Flipkart during the Big Billion Days sale as BBD Specials. These fully loaded models have Dolby certifications for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. Additionally, they come with improved sound with DTS TruSurround sound, a QLED 4K display with 1.1 billion colours, Dolby MS12, HDR 10+, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
Research & Development
SPPL has invested a huge amount of finance in the establishment of the manufacturing infrastructure, which is spread over a large area in Hapur – Uttar Pradesh. The infrastructure is installed with the latest machines and tools that help us manufacture these products as per the client’s needs. This is segregated into various units such as the production unit, the quality control unit, the R & D unit, and the warehouse and packaging unit for flawless production. Each and every unit is backed by highly skilled professionals who work around the clock to achieve the organization’s goals.
In Tune with changing trends
Over the years, the Indian population has become more aware of the digital world. They prefer Smart TVs for visual content & infotainment purposes. The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to a great extent to the expansion of OTT platforms in India. The main factor in the expansion of OTT platforms is the convenience of the platforms. The rapid expansion and use of Smart& Android based TVs in the Indian population have led to an increase in digital consumption.
The change has been that the youth want to have the biggest screen at more affordable pricing. The youth are keeping pace with the changing trends.
Boosts Make in India
The Indian government has launched the ‘Make in India’ initiative to boost Indian mobile manufacturing companies, and now the initiative is focusing on hardware manufacturing. India has the potential to become the manufacturing hub of the world. The key driver for this has been the government’s emphasis on the “Make in India” initiative, which has gained momentum in promoting India’s dream of being Asia’s next global powerhouse.
Future Plans
SPPL already has two plants in Noida, and then they had two more plants, but after that, those were under the exemption of sales tax. Within two to three months, the company is coming up with a new plant in Hapur, UP, which has a capacity of more than two million units. The plant is widely spread across 10 acres of area and is aiming to hire a huge number of skilled talents for its operations.
New Launches are Avant-Garde models as only a few models under 24 inches in size are available for buyers that are too non-smart or do not have good features wherein Blaupunkt TV will be a game-changer because of its premium, Sound quality, and extra added features. Blaupunkt and Westinghouse TVs have seen tremendous success over the past year, resulting in 4.6 ratings out of 5 on Flipkart and Amazon. The forthcoming new model features the most significant innovations in picture quality with HD Ready quality, high-end sound technology, and bezel-less design.
Mr. Marwah states, “With the newly launched models, we are looking to target Tier 2 and 3 markets via Flipkart’s wider reach. We are targeting the production of 2 million units in this new plant and plan to launch it in May this year. Also, we feel that we are the game changer in technology and will continue to be so.”
