Participating in ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu’ organized by the state Transport Department here to commemorate the achievements of the Transport Department staff on the completion of one year of people’s government in office, he talked about the government’s responsibility to make the city pollution-free.
The transport department plays a key role in controlling pollution in the city and it is the people’s responsibility to scrap the old vehicles, he added that the government was preparing plans to offer incentives to run electric autos in Hyderabad city.
To promote electric-vehicle adoption, the government had earlier announced providing a 100 percent exemption from road tax and registration fees on the purchase of electric vehicles (two-wheelers, four-wheelers, commercial passenger vehicles such as taxis, three-seater autorickshaws and electric light goods carriers).
