TEMA along with CMAI Association of India welcome move of Union Cabinet for approving revival package of Rs 89,047 crore for BSNL on June 7, 2023, it would mark a significant development for the state-run telecom operator. This substantial investment could be aimed at rejuvenating BSNL’s operations, infrastructure, and financial health.
TEMA appreciates the commitment of the Govt. led by Hon’ble MinisterSh. Narendra Modi ji supported by Minister of State Sh. Ashwani Vaishnaw ji for revival of BSNL. Without any doubt BSNL is the lifeline for citizens of India for connectivity in the remotest areas of India.
TEMA also wish to once again place on record the commitment of the Govt. and support given to BSNL for domestic 4G and 5G. So, this single step of the Govt. has made India as the only country outside to European countries, as Indian manufacturer of 4G and 5G. World is now looking at India as a trusted, secure, reliable and economical source for 4G and 5G. India has already received enquiries from more than 100 countries in this behalf.
Such a revival package would support BSNL in various ways, including network expansion, modernization, and upgrading its technology infrastructure. Additionally, it would help the company improve its competitiveness, enhance service quality, and expand its reach to unserved and underserved areas.

As a PSU, BSNL plays a crucial role in providing telecommunication services, especially in remote and rural areas where private operators may have limited reach. Supporting the revival of BSNL can contribute to achieving the government’s broader objectives of digital inclusion and connectivity for all.”
