The 7th Mobility Conclave and Excellence Awards Night 2021 Concluded on a Grand Scale!!

After pandemic, Mobility India is the first media to conduct this kind of event where visitors are physically present. It was great to see many of the partners and friends from the mobility industry under-one-roof.

The 7th Mobility Conclave and Excellence Awards Night 2021concluded onMarch 5, 2021at Hotel Surya in New Delhi in a grand way. This is an annual event conducted every year by Mobility magazine as a recognition platform for the top-performing individuals, brands, and devices of the mobility industry. The Awards Ceremony was attended by a large number of leading mobility partners, including vendors, distributors, and resellers from different parts of India, despite the ongoing pandemic. This year, we got a record number of product nominations and an increased number of online partner-voters from the mobility industry. 

After pandemic, Mobility is the first media to conduct this kind of event where visitors are physically present. It was great to see many of the partners and friends from the mobility industry congregate under-one-roof to celebrate.

7th Mobility India Conclave 2021 

The Mobility India Conclave has been designed to update the partners about the latest technology trends in mobility industry. There were three Panel Discussions to address different aspects of the mobility industry. The first discussion focused on the latest market trends, technology developments in mobility industry and how 5G, AI, IoT and gaming are influencing the market. The second panel discussion focused on the opportunities and challenges in the Make in India program. The last and third panel discussion focused on the dynamics, opportunities and challenges in the mobile accessories space. The details of the Panel Discussions are as follows:

Panel Discussion 1: On ‘The latest and upcoming Technology trends, opportunities & challenges, including the role of 5G, AI & Gaming. The Panel details: 

Moderator: SukantaDey, B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and MBA(Finance & Marketing) from IIM Kolkata. He is an industry veteran who worked in senior positions with several leading companies, boards and associations.

In these panel discussions, industry experts shared their opinions, the ensuing challenges, and how to overcome them. The panel discussions also focused on how to make the best use of the opportunities and translate them into a profitable business. 

Awards distributed during Conclave session 

MOBILITY Excellence Awards: For this category, the best product in each category is selected on the basis of online voting. We received the ample number of products from different categories for this award. After closing the nominations, partners from the channel community, including vendors and distributors, vote for their choice. The product which gets the highest number of votes will be declared as the most innovative product. For the recent poll, we received maximum online votes, which were beyond the expectation of our web team.

The 7th Mobility Excellence Awards Night 2021 Session 

The night session that followed the Mobility Conclave included company presentations (on mobile accessories). Awards were distributed to the performers in the mobile accessories segment. 

For us, the Mobility Awards Night is always more like an annual family get-together than simply an award-giving ceremony. The purpose of organizing this event is that it should act as a recognition platform where the top performers are recognized for their achievements in the year 2020. We wanted this event to be a motivator for the achievers to perform even better in the coming years. Next, this event, besides the recognition platform, is also designed to act as an occasion for the partners, vendors, industry experts, association representatives, etc to meet and interact under-one-roof, exchange their feeling, and learn the latest market and technology trends. Last but not the least, for us, this is an occasion to meet all our friends and partners at a place and occasion where celebration and professionalism come together. 

The representatives and guests at the event included Vendors, Corporate Executives, Distributors, Retailers, and Resellers from India and overseas, cutting across the verticals of Mobile Handsets and Accessories segments. The awardees, including individuals, brands, products, organizations, are selected on the basis of Online Voting and Selection by a Panel Judges.

The Significance of Mobility Awards Night: 

Today, India is the 2nd largest smartphone market after China with the USA pushed to the third position. Today, improving connectivity, decreasing prices of handsets & accessories, dropping operational costs, and the increasing number of features and functionalities, dropping prices, all are driving this mobile revolution. Today, mobile phones are replacing PCs and laptops for several activities.

Prime Minister’s Make in India and Digital India initiatives are bringing about revolutionary transformations in the Indian mobility industry. Today, India is also evolving into a huge manufacturing base driven by Make in India drive. It might take a few more years before India really becomes a big manufacturing base, but the process has already begun. 

With the increasing purchases via mobiles, e-tailing is shifting towards m-tailing. A considerable portion of the Indian population has already shifted from the use of feature phones to smartphones. The increasing use of smartphones is also spurring demand for accessories as never before, making the accessories markets a huge segment with enormous opportunity. 

Today, even in rural areas, where basic amenities find it hard to percolate, mobile phones are pervading fast. Of the all Internet connections in India, today, over 70% million are mobile Internet users. Undoubtedly, mobile phone has become the easiest way to connect to different kinds of audience, belonging to different age-groups, demographic areas, cultural backgrounds, etc and 4Gis accelerating this process. The 5G set to launch in 2021 will be another big step forward in the mobile industry.

With the handset market getting saturated and cluttered with several competing brands, the margins are shrinking. Now the providers see a big opportunity in the mobile accessories market. In spite of a big grey market in the accessories segment, providers see a big opportunity for white players in this segment market.

To Sum Up

Despite pandemic conditions, partners attended the event and participated with great energy and enthusiasm. The event was very exciting, informative, and entertaining. To meet all our partners on this occasion under-one-roof was even more exciting. It was also a day of contentment and an occasion for the winners to feel proud of their achievements and awards.
