“The smartphone market has grown humongously during the last 4 years. Some key trends include: There has been a significant increase both in the data consumption and in the speeds of transmission, and mobile has become a handheld PC as today most money transactions, communications and browsing the Internet for entertainment & information is happening through mobiles. At present, manufacturing of mobile handsets commands a significant share in the total goods manufactured in India. Another trend we are noticing is automobiles are getting digitized and smarter. Today, AI has become a buzz word. Most of us are already using the AI-driven apps like Google Assistant, ChatGPT, etc. In the developed west and east, we can already see many cars and automobiles on the roads with smart dashboards and features.”

“We are in a transformative era where consumerism is driving the market in India. Coming to mobiles, the latest trend is tools and apps are focusing on personalization and optimization of the content. There is a huge amount data around, and the question now is what is there for ‘Me’ or for a particular person. So, today, the concept ‘Me’ is taking the center stage whether you represent your professional personality, manufacturing company or business unit. In the future, AI will dominate not only how a smartphone works, it will also pervade into many sectors, activities and devices. Another advantage we have in India is data packages are very inexpensive. In the future devices, compatibility, storage and optimization will become critical factors while using AI which is set to revolutionize the operations in the sectors such as healthcare, automobile, education, and manufacturing as never before. Earlier, people said ‘AI will take our jobs leaving many unemployed’; now the assertion has changed to ‘AI will optimize our jobs and the way we work.’ My message is, we should not become slaves to technology, but optimize the its usage to do things better and improve our lives.”

“Since, I am from the memory industry, I want to focus my talk on how memory is going to impact the huge amount of data that is being transmitted and consumed and the speeds required to achieve that. Obviously, AI uses huge amounts data to deliver the services you want from it. Memory and storage play a key role to achieve the data transmission speeds needed in today’s apps, and in empowering the new age computing and AI. Biwin is a global leader in providing world-class flashstorage. Biwin provides storage devices to some of the leading brands like HP, Acer, and Lenovo, to mention a few. Coming to gaming, which needs low latency and high data transfer rates, the speeds of 14000 Mbps have become common which were only around 7000 Mbps a few years back. This could be achieved only through high quality flashstorage. Many users have already upgraded their PCs from HDDs to SSDs. Unfortunately, one negative trend in the memory market is many vendors and retailers are providing cheap SSDs which do not deliver the desired quality, speed and latency. My advice to the industry is even if the SSDs are a bit expensive, they should go for branded and reputed SSDs, and should NOT fall prey to the low-cost SSDs, which often underperform and fail.”

The future AI will change the way we interface with the smartphone—voice commands could replace touch, could also open and operate the apps. In the future, you just ask your phone and it could respond effectively to search a document, a photo or could even dial a person. The generative AI will help you to develop schema very easily and efficiently. AI will also become essential tool for product design, testing and development.”

“AI has been there since 1950s, but was restricted to certain critical domains controlled by the governments but today it is available to the common man in much advanced forms. Today, AI has achieved the levels of the intelligence of a 9-year old kid and in the coming years its set to reach higher levels of intelligence. Today, mobile phones have become daily companions. For instance, the simplest ChatGPT can provide answers to several questions, improve the written content, prepare tentative project proposals, and so on. As AI makes our lives better, easier and more comfortable, it is imperative that we make best use of the AI features and improve our productivity, efficiency and quality of work. With Apple AI, someone can convert professional content into personalized content, edit and enhance the pictures in many innovative ways and do many other things. As I am into marketing of Apple phones at Redington, I would say that Apple has its own secure and powerful AI ecosystem which is constantly updated and upgraded. This, in addition to its other merits, helps Apple to stay ahead of others.”

For everyone, it is necessary to get savvy at using AI tools to perform the activities efficiently from now onwards. We should learn how to optimize the technology to perform and live better than becoming slaves and victims of it.
