MODERATOR: Ms. Shaweta Berry, Vice President of Marketing & Business Development, Mahanadaya Universal Consultancy Pvt Ltd, a management consulting and GTM strategy company.
PANELISTS: Ms. Vandana Seth, Co-Founder & CEO, RV Solutions Pvt Ltd; Dr. Deepa Agarwal, Managing Director, JAP – Just About Power; Ms. Aishwarya Agarwal, National Manager Marketing & Corporate Sales, Nextech by Amson Interconnect Pvt Ltd; Ms. Pallavi Singh, Vice President, Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd; Ms. Chetna Katyall Sundaram, Head of Global Marketing, Elista (a TeknoDome Group Company)

“I feel honoured to be the moderator at this event for the second year in a row. Today, women are becoming architects of society as a part of the workforce, and data from the Ministry of Labour & Employment shows that the participation of women in the workforce has increased from 22% in 2018 to 40% in 2023-24, which is commendable. Women entering the workforce gives a boost to the country’s economy too. We wish Mobility Magazine will create a platform which will urge and encourage the government to support women entrepreneurs.”

Ms. Vandana Seth, Co-Founder & CEO, RV Solutions Pvt Ltd
“The background was set when I joined engineering college and developed the mindset to be an entrepreneur. I knew that the world around me was mostly manned and managed by men, but decided to go ahead make a way for myself. Fortunately, I got a good support from all the men and women around me and I faced very few challenges. RV Solutions believes that an organization grows with the development and growth of its employees. Hence, we have a focused approach to the overall development of our employees, both professionally and personally. We at RV provide several opportunities for the growth of the employees based on their involvement, performance, and potential. Employees thrive through training, mentorship, and a balanced work-life environment, in an inclusive and diverse culture. Earlier, the service used to be done in 3 days, now the same is being done in 3 hours – that is how fast the requirements and demands are changing. AI is the flavor of the season. In addition to doing after-sales-services for the mobile handsets, we also provide services in the corporate and telecom sectors. We have a CRM wing that manages the entire lifecycle of the devices. I thank all the men and women who supported me and cooperated with me.”

Dr. Deepa Agarwal, Managing Director, JAP – Just About Power
“At JAP, I am handling manufacturing and marketing, which are totally dominated by men and where women are not expected to be present. Initially it was both tough and interesting as well. We handle everything in-house – from electronics designing, testing, development to manufacturing. Over time, we have also started exporting electronics products to China. My experience taught me that if we can provide the right quality, we can not only manufacture for our domestic consumptions, but also export. Next, if we could achieve this export potential in electronics manufacturing, we can do it in other sectors too. We have a huge educated population in India available at affordable rates and we should make best use of it. Of course, it is essential to have a strong R&D system and deliver quality of global standards to excel. It is not such a difficult task; it just needs honest commitment.”

“Amson has been a manufacturer and technology product innovator since 1994, and today it has one of the widest collections of mobility power, AV-IT connectivity, and battery solutions. The company has undergone a growth journey. When I entered the industry, it was highly male-dominated. But things have changed over time. The contribution of women to the overall economy and the households on the average has seen a significant jump. As time passed, we hired more women in the company not only to balance the gender ratio but also to involve them in the decision making. If women are making purchases, they need to be represented in the decision-making process as well. Coming to the technology, today adoption of new technology, AI and generative tools has become essential to cater to the dynamic customer needs. After demographic reforms in our company, we also made it a point to incorporate and use the latest technologies in our manufacturing operations.”

Ms. Pallavi Singh, Vice President, Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd
“For women, multitasking comes naturally. For me the real challenge was to decide what needs to be manufactured and marketed proved difficult initially. But as time passed, I got used to these things and then I found it interesting too. SPPL manufactures smart TVs, coolers, speakers, etc., and I’ve seen the market transition from using basic TVs, smart TVs, to Google TVs. The technologies like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos have become common. We are now trying to widen the ecosystem with speakers and AI-enabled machines. As Ms. Berry suggested, we also need a platform which could urge the government to support the women entrepreneurs and help to minimise formalities and delays. I hope Mobility Magazine can create this platform.”

Ms. Chetna Katyall Sundaram, Head of Global Marketing, Elista (a TeknoDome Group Company)
“I found my job in the industry interesting, but there were challenges too as there were pre-conceived notions that women were not meant to handle certain jobs. I worked hard, focused on learning new things and convinced myself and also my seniors that I can do things. With time, my seniors realized my potential and drive and started giving me more responsible positions. Coming to the marketing trends and consumer attitudes, the attention spans of the viewers are shrinking, and we have to catch their attention in a very short time. To be more effective, I surrounded myself with Gen Z, who are the current day customers and users, to understand their psyche firsthand. Elista is a pioneering brand under the TeknoDome umbrella, offering a wide range of electronics, home appliances, IT, and mobile accessories. We have also learnt that to make an impact, we have to personalize and localize our marketing communications and brand strategies. And this approach worked well. Committed to India’s ‘Atmanirbhar’ vision, Elista combines cutting-edge technology with local manufacturing to produce high-quality, affordable products. Elista is a global brand present in Africa, the UAE, and 18 other countries, in addition to India.”
