Viber announced a key milestone of crossing more than 40 million registered users in India. This milestone is a clear sign of the surging popularity of the platform and its active and highly engaged community of users.Viber commenced its operations in India in December 2013 at a time when there were 13 million users of the application in India. Within a short span, it has now become the biggest market for the application in the country registering a growth of 200% in 1 year. Viber has over 516 million unique users in 193 countries and is constantly innovating by introducing new platforms and adding new features to delight its users.

Over the last one year Viber has shown consistent growth in its user base in India. Viber has added multiple features taking into account the unique requirements of the Indian consumer. One of the key releases last year was Viber Public Chats, a feature that allows users to discover, share and interact with conversations, communities and content on mobile. There are more than 50 Public Chats in India across various genres like fashion, beauty, travel, sports, entertainment etc.
