Vodafone Idea extends a helping hand for the flood hit Assam

Extending its support for the people of Assam who are adversely impacted by the flood this season, Vodafone Idea along with its several partners organised a flood relief drive in the city. Vodafone Idea teams touched more than 3,000 lives by ensuring easy availability of daily requirements such as food and water to flood victims at the relief camps.

Going a step ahead in providing its robust network technology, the telecom operator is also offering its 10L subscribers with special voice and data benefits. Vodafone Idea has already credited the free data benefit of 100MB to 5GB and free validity to make calls on customer’s account. This will help people access critical services like easy digital money transaction, emergency services, social media for communicating and finding their missing relatives/friends etc.

Mr. Mohit Narru, Business Head – Assam & North East, Vodafone Idea Ltd. said, “Vodafone Idea is committed to support the people of Assam in this time of calamity. We realise that mobile connectivity is the only access that flood victims have at this time and we are committed to keep them connected. We hope our free data and call offer with extra validity will enable our customers to reach out to their loved ones during this crisis.”

In such times connectivity to the outside world is one of the most crucial needs and to bring the lives of people back to normal, Vodafone Idea’s on-ground team of experts is working towards restoring connectivity across 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
