What technological trends will overrule 2022?
The usage of digital fitness applications had been already on the rise even before COVID-19 came, but the pandemic gave big push to the trend. With futuristic technology at our disposal, we live in an era where the most exciting advances into the future technology have changed our world and will continue to amaze us whether it’s improving health, security, using Artificial Intelligence or just making entertainment better. We, at PLAY, have embarked on a journey to continuously look for ways to make these technologies accessible to common people seamlessly. We have already started seeing fruits through our R&D Innovation Centre and the industry has never been more exciting in terms of technologies available to bring forth a never-before consumer experience. We also hope to see some groundbbreaking innovations in the personal fitness and wearables category, especially as we build synergies with global medical and wellness insights.
What new products are you likely to come up in the near future?
Today, our portfolio boasts of about 20+ products across two categories and over 1 lakh new ‘HAPPY’ customers every month. Over the next 12 months, we want to launch at least 2 new consumer categories, double our retail footprint and double our monthly new ‘HAPPY’ customers in India.
What is your future roadmap?
Today, without the digital communications and electronic devices, which are extremely dependent upon connectivity, processing, and memory/storage, most people cannot lead their lives. After the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, people became more dependent than ever before on the personal devices to connect with others and continue to work from home. The reliance on web-based meetings, online education, and cloud-based services, in general, will increase as time goes on. Even after the pandemic ends, people will continue to participate in virtual events and look for more virtual experiences to replace some of the traditional practices. This should drive increasing demand for the consumer electronics and cloud services. At PLAY, we will continue to stay up-to-date in line with the trends in the market. With Telematics, AI, IoT and ML driving the technology trends, we will innovate, design and develop more Make In India products in 2022. Will launch several new products and explore new avenues to enhance the reach of our brand.
