Xiaomi has pledged Rs 15 Cr for the fight against COVID-19 outbreak. Xiaomi will contribute Rs 10 Cr to the Prime Minister’s Relieve Fund and Chief Minister’s Relieve Funds of different states. MOreover, Xioami will continue to provide lakhs of protective face masks to the citizens and protective suits to the hospitals.
“We have partnered with Give India on Mi.com to raise Rs 1 Cr to make available hygiene kits for 20,000 families who do not have access to masks, sanitizers, and soaps. We request all our Mi fans and partners to donate to the cause. we are also partnering with several NGOs to extend support to daily wage earners, miogrants and stray animals. In addition, we are requesting all the 1000+ Xiamoi employees and partners to donate a part of their salaries directly through PM’s Relief Fund and CMs’ Relief Funds,” said a spokesperson of Xiaomi.
BSNL Paid Over Rs 590 Cr to the Industry for Capex Payments
REcently, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd) paid over Rs 590 Cr to the industry for capex payments. Though still more than 6000 crs are pending to be paid from BSNL, this Rs 590 Cr shall help Industry tide over COVID-19 issue to some extent.
BSNL was incorporated in 2000 and took over the business of providing of telecom services and network management from the erstwhile Central Government Departments of Telecom Services (DTS) and Telecom Operations (DTO), in the same year on going concern basis. It is one of the largest & leading public sector units providing comprehensive range of telecom services in India.
“We thank BSNL CMD and directors for the support. Though still more than 6000 Cr is pending to be paid from BSNL side, this money shall help Industry tide over COVID-19 issue to some extent,” said Sandeep Aggarwal, Chair Telecom, PHDCCI.
