ZTE Showcases Latest Smart Devices : ZTE, a leading global mobile device maker, today began to showcase a range of smart devices at Mobile World Congress 2015 that are soon to be launched in markets across Europe. Flagship products on show include the smart voice ZTE Star 2, Smart Sense ZTE Blade S6, and the innovative Spro 2, the only smart projector with a touchscreen Android operating system.
Huawei Watch, Talkband B2, and Talkband N1 :Huawei Watch will be available in the United States and at least 19 other countries at launch. 42mm diameter, 11.3mm thickness, 1.4″display, AMOLED, touch-sensitive sapphire glass, Qualcomm 400, 1.2 GHz, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM, 300 mAh and Android Wear OS.
The B2, a second-generation device, is a unique entry into the health-oriented wearable space. The hardware includes both a wristband and a Bluetooth headset. Unlike the Huawei Watch, the TalkBand B2 is platform agnostic, boasting compatibility with Android 4.0+ and iOS 7+. the B2 has sensors to aid in tracking your physical activity. Paired with a proprietary app, you can read out this data on your phone and also use the B2 to locate your Android or Apple device.
You can think of the N1 as another step away from smartwatch compared to the B2. In this case, it’s so far from a watch that there is no watch component. It is simply a Bluetooth headset. Still, it claims health tracking ability, though the exact hardware used to do so is not so clear. Sound quality is a priority in this device, supporting aptX codecs and having buds for both ears. The two buds are magnetic and can therefore lightly attach to one another. Or, as Huawei says, they can turn into “a fashionable necklace accessory!” I’ll let you decide how fashionable the N1 necklace will be.
HTC Vive VR Headset & HTC Grip Fitness Tracking Smartband: Taiwanese tech giant just announced its Virtual Reality (VR) headset, as part of its collaboration with Valve, a well known video game publisher. The company promises the Vive virtual headset will deliver “the most immersive experience of any VR package,” and that it will include full room scale 360-degree viewing.
Grip is essentially a cross-platform fitness-tracking smartband compatible with smartphones running on Android KitKat or iOS 7 and above. The smartband is a result of HTC’s partnership with American sportswear maker Under Armour, which was announced at CES earlier this year. Grip runs on UA’s Record system, which will be used to keep track of runs and other workouts. As for functionality, in addition to fitness and sports-related tracking, the smartband also comes with an alarm clock, timer, stopwatch, and will also display notifications from the paired smartphone.
