The Haryana government aims to convert 100% of the fleet owned by state transport companies in the state to electric buses by 2029, with the first phase of converting 100% of the bus fleet in Gurugram and Faridabad by 2024.
All forms of government vehicles, including vehicles of government corporations, government boards and ambulances, etc., will be converted to electric vehicles by 2024, according to the state’s draft electric vehicle policy.
The government aims to supply 24×7 power to all qualified EV-related industries operating in the state and to provide a government-specified reimbursement of energy expenses / electricity rights per unit for a specified period from the date start of commercial production of electric vehicles.
The government said it has revised the transportation regulations for electric vehicles that will allow registration for 2-wheel, 3-wheel and 4-wheel vehicles equipped with an electric motor and electric powertrain using advanced battery technologies and certified by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune or other government recognized agency.
