AK Marketing, based in Mumbai, is a prominent distributor of Mobile Phones in the western India region. Despite challenges, the company has made a mark in the market within a short span of time after its inception in the year 2013.During an exclusive interaction with the Mobility Magazine, Mr. Abhay Khandhar, Managing Partner, AK Marketing, talks about the challenges they are facing, their policies and business strategies.
AK Marketing, with a partner-friendly approach and effective marketing strategies, is able to overcome several challenges, market disruptions and uncertainties in the unpredictable area of mobile handset. The company strives to constantly improve the customer experience, and its success can be attributed to their supportive and honest business approach driven by values such as integrity, service and social responsibility. Since its inception, AK Marketing has always been committed to giving the high quality products. Being an authorized Distributors, the company sources products only through an Authorised Brand channel and sells the same at the dealer pricing.
Distribution is a bridge between the OEMs and their partners. However, after the outbreak of the pandemic, the online channels have created a major disruption in the offline distribution industry. Online purchases are shipped directly from the manufacturers to the end users through drop shippers.
Regarding the changing trends in the distribution business, Mr. Abhay Khandhar comments, “There has been a total disruption in the offline channel due to the ecommerce portals who can offer big discounts. Today, the ecommerce portals such as Jio Mart, Flipkart and Amazon are giving big competition to the offline distributors like us.”
While the challenge from the ecommerce is common to all the offline players, AK Marketing is able to overcome the problem due to its strong relationships with the partners and the effective marketing strategies they follow.
Talking about their business strategy, Mr. Abhay Khandhar reveals, “We are currently distributing mobile phones of Nokia, Tecno and Itel. Managing the Return on Investments (ROI)is the biggest challenges we are facing at present. Due to our effective business strategies and far-sighted approach, we are confident that we will overcome all the challenges and continue to grow and succeed.”
