During an exclusive interaction with Mobility Magazine, Mr.Aayushmaan Wassan – Managing Director of CallMate elaborates on their product portfolio, approach to Make in India and their business strategies. CallMate provides a wide range of high-quality and unique mobile accessories and now focusing on rapid expansion to their product suite.
Please brief us about the CallMate’s product portfolio?
Our portfolio, built up over the years, has a wide range of products sub-divided into seven categories including portable chargers, cables, car chargers, travel chargers, holders, and audio devices. We also have some auxiliary and handheld devices.
What new innovations can we expect from CallMate in the near future?
Obsolescence is a big challenge while managing inventory and launching new products, because technologies are changing so rapidly, and devices are becoming outdated sooner than later. We are very strong in the categories like portable chargers, neckbands and travel chargers. The protocol speed of power delivery has moved from 2 Amperes to 5 Amperes in the last 2 years. Next, the cables to charge laptops and phones will become interchangeable. We are the first company to launch a power bank with a capacity above 35000 mAh which, charged once, can last up to 10-15 days. This power bank has a digital indicator and 4 cables (micro, Type C, etc) and it can charge 4 devices simultaneously. This month we have also launched an extremely high capacitypower bank of 80,000 mAh and have got positive feedback form our markets.
Neckbands as a category in India has become a very popular too. We are planning to increase the capacity of our neckbands to 1000 mAh that gives over 120 hours of non-stop playtime; charging it once, you can use it for 4 days non-stop. We are very bullish about our capacity and the playtime that our products can offer. Helping our customers significantly reduce charging time for these devices.
How does your after-sales service system work across India?
Our products have one year warranty from any manufacturing defects. If people have service issues, they can go to our service center in Karol Bagh (New Delhi) or send the products directly to our factory where we set them right and send back. In case of a manufacturing defect, the product will get instantly replaced.
What is your approach to the Make in India concept?
We fully support the Make in India initiative to make India self-reliant in every sector. We are already manufacturing chargers, car chargers and cables in-house, but some components such as lithium ion batteries need to be imported.
What is the roadmap of CallMate for the next 3 years?
In the last few years, there have been many disruptions in electronic devices industry. At CallMate, we take pride in being at the forefront of bringing in innovative products that the Indian consumers need.We will add more products to our line-up in the coming times. In future, the demand for customized products will only increase from our principles. We hope to provide the software 2 hardware bridgethat would enable our users to procure items that are completely in sync with their brand identities with respect to programming and form factors.
