    The New Delhi-based Caul Mobile (under the brand name Caul) provides top class, stylish keypad mobiles and smart feature phones. Caul, one of the fastest growing mobile phone brands in India, has a distribution footprint in over 90% of the districts in India. A strong proponent of the Government of India’s Make-in-India initiative, Caul has its own full-scale state-of-the-art fully functional manufacturing unit for mobile phones, mobile batteries and smart watches in Sonipat Haryana.

    In an interaction with Mobility Magazine, Mr. Naveen Goel, Founder & Chairman- Caul Infotech Pvt Ltd and  Mr. Sandeep Mehra, CEO, Caul Infotech Pvt Ltd  share their product strategy, and future plans.

    Q. Give a brief introduction of your company?

    It is a moment of great delight to introduce our company ‘Caul Infotech Pvt Ltd’ as a new entrant into the mobility industry with a vision to provide a wide range of mobile phones, smart gadgets and other electronic gadgets in upcoming months and years. Our brand philosophy is ‘To deliver quality products at affordable prices to users.’ The Primary approach of our company is based on simple the principle ‘Success of our partners equates to our success.’ Our company is manned by highly enthusiastic, skilled and experienced personnel across different departments like sales, after sales, finance, HR & back office. Our company is fully equipped with the latest technologies to satisfy our customer needs and demands. 

    Q. What range of mobile phones do you have?

    Our company is currently operating with two series of feature phones: 1. Smart Series and 2. Star Series. The Smart Series portfolio has 6 models – 4 models in 1.8” segments and 2 in 2.4” segments. The Smart Series are rich in looks and has advanced specs like vibrator, BT dialer. The Star Series portfolio has 5 models where we incorporated all the recent specs as per feature phone segment categories at highly competitive rate to penetrate in C-Towns and Tehsil Levels. 

    Q. What is the USP of your brand?

    For us, our customers are the key to our success and we upgrade our products continuously by taking the feedback from customers. We believe our work is not over until customers feel delighted. Therefore, we launched our brand with 4 power-packed features with a slogan ‘Caul ka Chauka’: 

    1. 14 Days DOA Policy.

    2. 180 days one time screen replacement.

    3. 121 days replacement policy.

    4. 1-year phone warranty.

    Detailing about the policies of the brand, Mr. Naveen Goel Founder & Chairman, Caul Infotech Pvt Ltd says, “We have created these products keeping in mind the gap that the customers are facing between the premium brands and affordable brands. Hence our products are levelled at the mid segment so that the customers can benefit and customer satisfaction is our prime motto.” 

    Q. What opportunity do you see in Make in India

    As you know, the Indian telecom industry is on a fast growing trajectory. The ambitious Make in India program launched in 2014 by the Indian govt has given the mobile phone manufacturing companies the much needed impetus to manufacturing domestically, develop the skills of the workers and create employment to millions. The biggest gain for mobile brands is the reduced time from finalizing the design, developing the printed circuit boards, assembling, adding locally sourced accessories to final packaging. 

    Q. What are the emerging trends in mobile industry?

    Over in the last two years, we have witnessed phenomenal digital penetration. Both the feature and smartphones with new functions like BT dialer, 4G & 5G compatibility, better cameras, slimmer designs and contemporary ergonomics, are invading the market. With the rise of social media, OTT consumption on the go, work and study from the home, better content availability, mobiles industry is changing and diversifying very fast.

    Q. What new productsdo you want to launch?

    Currently, we have launched new feature phones in two series: Smart Series and Star series. We are in the expansion mode. We are planning to launch smartphones & smartwatches in the coming year.

    Q. Where do you place yourself in the Indian mobiles landscape in next 5 Years?

    Our have clear goals and vision. This year, our entire focus is to build a robust distribution and after-sales-service networks across India. We are planning to build a network of over 600distributors across India by Diwali 2022. Our vision is to become an admirable brand in India and internationally. Mr. Sandeep Mehra CEO, Caul Mobiles says, “This year our aim is to build a robust network of 600 distributors by Diwali and we plan to launch smartphones and smartwatches also.”
