Hike, India’s fastest growing and biggest mobile app announced the winners of its first 24 hour offline hackfest – HikeAthon. The participants showcased their coding skills and cracked complex challenges with an innovative approach towards making So-Lo-Mo (social-local-mobile) revolution a reality; especially with messaging as a backbone. The winners will also land direct-interviews with for employment at India’s fastest growing start-up.
The winning teams – IIN-K, SoLoMo shop, Team LoSoBo Team Builder and Team Janmat have been announced as the best 5 teams, after a meticulous selection process by the jury on the basis of approach adopted for addressing the problem, teamwork and their passion towards coding. Developers from across India competed against the crème de la crème of the developer community. The hackathon entries were judged by Hike’s team members; led by Rajat Bansal, CTO, and supported by 4 lead team members.
Rajat Bansal, CTO, Hike said, “We are scouting for innovative hiring options, which enable us to interact with candidates while they work. This allows us to evaluate them on several other metrics like teamwork, innovation, passion etc. HikeAthon is a great way to gauge how innovative minds work together and apply their skills to solve real life problems.”

Organized at Hike’s corporate office in Bangalore, on March 28-29, HikeAthon received a positive response from the software developers’ community, with over 1000 registrations from across the country. Of this, around 100 participants were shortlisted for the on-site participation basis various benchmarks.
