Huawei India has been conferred with ‘Best Innovative CSR Project in Education’ for its program E-hope, implemented in multiple locations across India, by the India CSR Community Initiative Awards.

The award winning case study was based on the project – E-hope – to equip, educate and empower young minds. This program aims to digitally equip rural schools in India and aid in bridging the digital divide by providing access to the information technology and computer systems. By providing computers and promoting equal access to connectivity, the program contributes significantly to narrowing the gap between the digital ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’.  E-Hope intends to reach about 100,000 children annually. The program was launched across India in phases with an objective to build a knowledge network of 1000 schools within the next two to three years.

The ‘INDIA CSR Community Initiative Awards’ is a milestone and an iconic event that acknowledges the unique and extraordinary contributions in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) domain.
