Despite these barriers, many women in leadership positions in technology have successfully overcome challenges and reached top positions in their respective areas of expertise. Here are some of the inspiring women who are not just breaking the glass ceiling but also inspiring other women to climb the tech ladder.
Ms. Midhula Devabhaktuni, Co-founder and CMO of Mivi
Mivi was co-founded by Midhula Devabhaktuni and her husband, Viswanadh Kandula in 2015. She is currently the Chief Marketing officer of the company that houses 1500+ employees under her leadership. Her astute and innovative thinking, combined with her adeptness at quick problem solving, has rendered her as an invaluable asset to the growth of the organization. Midhula is keen believer of promoting gender equality and strives to provide employment for women in a space that is cluttered by men, at Mivi 80% of the workforce is constituted of women. Along with spearheading such a large Made In India company she is also the mother of two lovely children that serve as her source of motivation everyday. As a working mom she often has to juggle her responsibilities as a parent along with her professional career which she executes flawlessly everyday by managing her time and energy to meet the demands of both her family and work. She has been working tirelessly to make a difference in the electronics segment, inspiring the nation to manufacture their products in India. Her farsightedness on the potential of the Indian market has helped the organization grow and venture into several categories in the electronic segment. She completed her graduation from Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Andhra Pradesh, in 2008 and moved to the United States to pursue her master’s in computer science from Florida State University, she also completed her MBA from the same university.
Ms Aayushi Kishore- Co-founder of Fire-Boltt
Aayushi Kishore is the co-founder of Fire-Boltt, a wearable, gaming, and audio brand that offers fitness, and fashion products. The brand has clocked a revenue of Rs 500 crore in FY22 and looks forward to tripling its growth this year. Aayushi Kishore comes from a family of entrepreneurs. Her father, Lalit Kishore, a seasoned entrepreneur, has been instrumental in bringing big brands like Nike and Lotto to India.
Ms Pallavi Singh, Vice President, Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd, a brand Licensee of White Westinghouse
Ms Pallavi Singh is the Vice President, Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd, a brand Licensee of White Westinghouse. SPPL is a 35 year old manufacturing firm based out of Noida and is also a brand licensee of Eastman Kodak Company New York for the brand ‘Kodak’ as well as Technicolor SA for the brand ‘Thomson’. Pallavi is a qualified Charted Accountant since 2012 and prior to joining SPPL in 2015, she worked with KPMG as a tax and regulatory consultant and worked with multiple international clients during her tenure there. Upon joining SPPL, she has developed the e-commerce market for the company from scratch and now heads the e-commerce division successfully as on date.
She also launched Kodak HD LED TV’s online in August 2016 and has been developing the brand online since then. The brand has won multiple awards in till date for their products and digital content. She has also helped in launching the brand ‘Thomson’ along with their strategic partner, Flipkart in April 2019 which has been a successful venture and has brought a lot of traction for SPPL in the online world.
Ms Jyotsna Uttamchandani, Executive Director, Syska Group
Uttamchandani, an executive director in the Syska Group who heads the family-run holding’s mobile accessories business, had started working for Microsoft after completing her bachelor’s in computer science and information technology from Purdue in 2015. She started as a consultant in Chicago before moving to their Seattle office as a success manager. She then worked at Microsoft for three years before her health forced her to move back to India in 2018. It was then that she found herself in two minds about joining the family business, Syska Group, which is now into LED lights, cables, wires, grooming products, mobile accessories, speakers, and smartwatches.
Ms. Nikita Kumawat, Managing Director, Brandworks Technologies Pvt Ltd
Ms Nikita is a visionary entrepreneur and co-founder of Brandworks Technologies, is making news in the electronics manufacturing industry employing thousands of women, resulting in remarkable career and financial success.

Ms Komal Agarwal, Co Founder- Pebble
Komal Agarwal co-founded the brand Pebble in the year 2013. She is an electronic engineer from NTU, Singapore, and an IIM Calcutta post-graduate. She has worked with corporate houses like JP Morgan & Mckinsey before finally starting up her own venture. Being a millennial herself, she understood the latent need for good quality affordable charging solutions back then and launched Pebble with a range of chargers and power banks. She is instrumental in growing Pebble into one of the most sought-after lifestyle accessories brands in India. She now personally leads the New Tech & Ecosystem development for Pebble.
Ms. Lee Young-hee, President of the Global Marketing Center for Samsung’s Device
Lee Young-hee has been promoted to the President of the Global Marketing Center for Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) division and she will be overseeing its mobile business. Young-hee is the first female President of the Korean tech giant, the country’s biggest conglomerate, to come from outside the founding family, reports Yonhap news agency. Lee Boo-jin, the first daughter of late Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee, currently serves as the president and chief executive of Hotel Shilla, a Samsung affiliate. Lee Young-hee joined the tech giant in 2007 and was promoted to vice president in 2012. Previously working at L’Oreal, she successfully promoted the image and brand of Samsung’s Galaxy mobile phones.Samsung expected the promotion to serve as a chance for other talented female employees to challenge themselves to climb career ladders.

Ms. Meng holds a master’s degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Ms. Meng joined Huawei in 1993 and has held positions including Director of the International Accounting Dept, CFO of Huawei Hong Kong, and President of the Accounting Mgmt Dept. Ms. Meng now serves as Deputy Chairwoman of the Board, and Rotating Chairwoman and CFO of Huawei. Since 2003, Ms. Meng has led the establishment of Huawei’s globally unified finance organizational structure, processes, regulations, and IT platforms. From 2007 to 2014, Ms. Meng implemented the Integrated Financial Services (IFS) Transformation Program across the company around the world, making fine-grained management part of Huawei’s DNA for sustainable growth.

With over 15 years of experience in marketing and brand management across B2C and B2B brands, she will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that will drive growth and increase market share for Haier India Appliances.
