Jivi has received phenomenal response for its first smartphone model – the JSP 20. The brand sold over 7000 units of India’s lowest price Android smartphone exclusively on Amazon.inleading to a complete stock out in the first week itself. Priced at Rs 1999, the Jivi JSP 20 also happens to be the slimmest and the only smartphone with OGS display in the 3.5” segment.
JSP 20 is the only phone in its segment to have an OGS (One Glass Solution) display wherein one of the glass layers in the capacitive touchscreen stack gets replaced by thin insulating material, Indium Tin Oxide, a rare metal, reducing its thickness. What’s more, it’s not just light on pocket but in weight as well- measuring around 95 grams only.
“Now that our JSP 20 model has triggered a substantial conversion of feature phone users to smartphone users which is in line with Prime Minister’s Digital India program, we have made the phone available on Amazon.in again,” says Pankaj Anand, Chief Executive Officer, Jivi Mobiles. “PM’s Digital India program envisages citizens accessing e-services on highly affordable mobile devices. We are supporting his vision of a smartphone in every Indian’s hand by 2019 by shattering the price barrier. However, this does not mean any compromise on functionality. Shortly we shall introduce lowest-priced 3G, dual-core, quad-core and octa-core phones as well,” adds Mr. Anand.
According to Harsh Vardhan, Head – Marketing, Jivi Mobiles, “Ever since we launched Jivi JSP 20, we have been inundated with calls and messages. Recently, a Regional Sales Manager of a reputed brand wrote about how he has been able to equip his sales executives across the state with an affordable smartphone – JSP 20 – that helps them coordinate product sales almost on real-time basis using WhatsApp group.”
Vineet Srivastava, 22, an engineering student from Kanpur, who happens to be one of the first buyers online, said, “Being able to run WhatsApp, Facebook & YouTube on an Android smartphone available at the price of a feature phone is truly amazing. Obviously, if we expect more, we need to shell out more. So, at this price, the JSP 20 seems to be a value for money proposition scoring high on price-performance comparison.”
Besides the 3.5” (8.89 cm) full capacitive touchscreen that displays bright and vivid colours (320 x 480 pixels) bringing images and videos to life, it has a 1GHz processor that enables multitasking. It allows you to experience your favourite games, apps etc., at blazing speeds and the navigation seems as smooth as silk. The phone has inherent advantages of the Android OS platform. It’s the most acceptable platform in the world with maximum apps developed for it. Jivi JSP 20 supports six languages for messaging – English, French, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
