The charging station location is at the heart of the city on Kannur Road near PT Usha Road junction & City Hall and is also very near to Kozikode beach. Installation of EV chargers in such hotspots will help to promote more EV adoption. Charger installed at this location can charge all popular electric cars with CCS2 connectors like Tata Nexon, Tata Tigor, MG ZS, Hyundai Kona, Kia EV6, BYD E6, and other high end cars that are expected to be launched in the Indian market.

Magenta in its mission to enable e-mobility is partnering with environmentally conscious partners. Magenta intends to onboard many such partners on a WIN-WIN proposition over next few months taking factors like location, type of customer segments etc into consideration.

Sunil Thomas, Partner of Crescendo said on this occasion, “It is absolutely delightful to hear from EV customers and their family they are super happy to have the convenience of fast charger for their EV so close to their homes in Kozhikode”.

Sajeev CP, Partner of Crescendo, who is also an avid rider added “It is extremely convenient for travel enthusiasts to have a fast charger in the heart of Kozhikode town which is so close fantastic restaurants in Kozhikode”.

Magenta ChargeGrid is currently expanding its charging network to 35-40 cities in India with the aim to set up a network of around 11,000 chargers by the end of FY 23. Magenta ChargeGrid has formed alliances with prominent DISCOMs across the country such as BSES, BESCOM and other key discoms with the goal of establishing a stronger EV charging ecosystem. The firm is also collaborating with multiple corporations in India with present association with bodies like Indore Municipal Corporation, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation. This is in addition to our ongoing strategic tie-ups with key hotel chains such as Fern, IBIS, amongst others, to build EV charging infrastructure within cities and on highways.

Since 2018, Magenta ChargeGrid has been developing EV solutions which are ‘Made in India’ and made for Indian weather conditions and usage. Under the three business verticals, (Magenta ChargeGrid chargers as a product, charging as a service (ChargeGrid) and eMobility (EVET), Magenta ChargeGrid provides integrated solutions to develop the whole EV ecosystem.

Seed funded by HPCL & incubated by Shell, Magenta is also backed by the Microsoft Startup Program to further strengthen its advanced technology platform for Electric Mobility. In 2020, Magenta had raised pre-series funding from JAN (JITO Angel Network) and LetsVenture. In May 2021, Magenta closed its Series A funding by renowned Indian-American philanthropist, billionaire, and serial entrepreneur, Dr. Kiran Patel.
