This morning at Future Decoded in London, an event for UK business leaders to discuss the future of work and business, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke about Microsoft’s vision for the future of productivity. During a moderated Q&A with Microsoft Chief Envisioning Officer Dave Coplin, Satya shared more about how Microsoft is thinking about productivity in a very broad way and how Microsoft is uniquely positioned to help people get our scarcest commodity, time, back. You can read more about recent momentum behind Microsoft’s focus on productivity in this blog post from Frank Shaw.
As you will likely recall, in an email to employees in July, Satya shared that at our core, Microsoft is the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. He said “we will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more.” You may have seen recent news from us, such as the Incubation Apps from the Microsoft Garage, Dropbox partnership, Cities Unlocked and Office Mobile Updates, all of which illustrate how Microsoft is helping people achieve more by giving people the right tools – for work, home and on the go, on any device. You’ll continue to see more from the company on this front.
