videcon_logoVideocon Telecom, the innovative & vibrant telecom arm of the Indian conglomerate Videocon Group has inked a strategic tower infra sharing agreement with Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. (RJIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL). Videocon Telecom which is also involved in building strategic sites for other leading telcos in its operating circles is steadily expanding its footprint across the potential belts including the rural areas & helping other telcos widen their reach.

The deal with Reliance Jio is aimed at optimizing and sharing telecom infrastructure, reducing costs, preserving critical capital and environment and providing better QoS (Quality of Service). Thru this deal, Reliance Jio will now get strategic access to Videocon Telecom’s Tower infrastructure across VTL circles that will allow Reliance Jio advantages on cost saving, better network outreach and offer seamless network services to the consumers.

In future Videocon Telecom shall explore more possibilities with Reliance Jio in terms of 4G network sharing, optical fibre network sharing, internet broadband services and other mutually conducive opportunities. While Reliance Jio gears up for its 4G launch across the country, Videocon Telecom has also announced rollout of its 4G LTE FDD services on 1800MHz across its operational six telecom circles where it owns liberalized license.

Mr. Arvind Bali, Director & CEO, Videocon Telecommunications Ltd. says, “Strategic deals like these go a long way in helping to eliminate the duplication of infrastructure and redundancy, while reducing costs, and improving the quality of service. We are excited about this opportunity to collaborate with Reliance Jio. This to us is just the beginning; possibilities of this arrangement are endless to derive mutual benefits.

We are pretty serious about our own Tower infra business and we going aggressive with our plans. We have our own Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) network and broadband services in Punjab which we would strengthen via this association. In addition, we own National Long Distance (NLD) & International Long Distance (ILD) network, which can be shared in near future. Going forward, the possibilities can also be extended to roaming on 2G, 4G networks.’’
