As per Digitimes, Pegatron is supposed to continue to share with Foxconn Technology (Hon Hai Precision) for new 5.4-inch iPhone devices slated for launch in the second half of 2021, according to sources from Taiwan’s handset supply chain.
After Apple suspended its partnership with Taiwanese firm over the alleged violations, post some months, the report of Pegatron taking iPhone production orders came out. As a result of this Apple put Pegatron on probation.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the “iPhone 13 Pro” models will feature “impressive” updates like a new ultrawide camera lens and wider use of optical image stabilization. However, the so-called “iPhone 13 mini” is rumoured to be Apple’s last 5.4-inch model as it moves to larger handsets in 2022.
According to sources as per Digitimes, Pegatron won orders for Apple’s next 5.4-inch iPhone upgrade. It will also handle a “portion of orders” for another 6.1-inch iPhone 13 model.
Orders for the smaller iPhone are reportedly down dramatically compared to previous years due to lower-than-expected iPhone 12 mini sales.
Although Pegatron will take over the production of other iPhone models this year, Foxconn will continue to be the main assembler of the “iPhone 13” models.
