Take us through the journey so far and the milestones achieved?

It has been almost three decades that I have been in this industry, and I started CallOne. Started in 1995, we started importing from Taiwan. We were the first to do SKD imports for India and finally OEM for Airtel, Essar, and the idea and manufacturing for chargers, car chargers, cables, and the and the assembly of earphones.

With a vast experience of almost 30 years in the mobile accessory segment, we have been able to judge the needs of consumers and tap them into opportunities. With our understanding of the market and robust research and development capabilities, we at CallOne have been able to manufacture the best-quality products at the most affordable prices, thereby strengthening the ecosystem. 

Today, CallOne provides benchmark-quality power banks, earphones, chargers, speakers, and much more. Our mission is to empower people to personalize and optimize mobile devices to fit their lifestyles.

Callone was earlier targeting OEM sales for Akai, Gizmore, Micromax, Intex, and Play, and now we are targeting our own brand all over India.

How do you feel will be the future of charging segment in India and how do you position your brand in this segment?

These days, wireless phone charging is extremely widespread, a technology that has advanced significantly in order to create a large ecosystem of various wireless charging devices. Wireless phone charging offers advantages that are obvious, but it also has drawbacks.

There is a huge market for the charging segment, as most people use more than two devices even when they are on the move.

What are the strategies adopted to gear growth?

The main strategy is to foster manufacturing. As pioneers in the industry, our commitment to delivering high-quality ‘Made in India’ mobile accessories is unwavering. We are very aggressive about expanding manufacturing in India. We believe that the expansion of local manufacturing will enable us to generate employment, bring in efficiencies of scale and price, and make that available to our customers.

How have you been able to foster manufacturing? Discuss about your R&D

We have realized that Indian products are more sought-out in India. In India, we have a setup in Mayapuri, to create products. To meet international quality standards, CallOne has continually upgraded its production processes, invested in research and development, and adopted cutting-edge technologies.

Investments in electronics manufacturing hubs and specialized industrial zones have been able to catalyse the growth of CallOne. Moreover, nurturing a skilled workforce has also reiterated its commitment to Make in India.  

Discuss your export plans.

Currently, CallOne exports to countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. If the government supports us, we can beat China in a few years. If the government releases duty, then there will be more benefits for the manufacturers.

Discuss the growth envisaged ahead in the next couple of years.

CallOne focuses on innovation, which enhances global competitiveness, catalyses the growth of the indigenous technology ecosystem, and fosters a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. In the next year, CallOne will target one retail counter in every city and every town to give consumers a feel for the products.
