Electric two wheeler sales in India in June 2023 witnessed a sharp decline. The FAME 2 subsidy reduction has affected electric two-wheeler sales. The reduction in subsidies has resulted in a notable increase in the prices of electric two-wheelers across the country, leading to a 56.3% decline in sales compared to the previous month.
The government has revised the FAME 2 subsidy policy, reducing the subsidy amount from Rs 15,000/kWh to Rs 10,000/kWh and capping it at 15 percent of the vehicle cost.
