Rajasthan Looks Like a Promising State for Make in India
Rajasthan is the largest state in India (area wise) and it is the second largest mineral producing state in India with 82 major and minor minerals. The state is the only producer of zinc and lead in the country, as well as the largest producer of marble. Furthermore, Rajasthan has the third largest network of national highways, the second largest rail network in India, nine inland container depots, one air cargo complex, and seven airports with direct international and national connectivity.
The Indian govt is also making sincere efforts to make India a semiconductor manufacturing base. The Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, said that presently the government is focusing on developing a larger electronic manufacturing space in India. The Minister spoke about the government’s plan to address policy gaps to further explore the vast electronics manufacturing opportunity in India. The government’s mega vision includes systematically working towards a rare earth materials strategy too.
We wish, driven by sound policies and good governance, India would transform into a major manufacturing hub in the coming years.
