Maruti Suzuki India to launch its maiden electric vehicle (EV) in the country, the eVX, towards the end of the current fiscal. While the eVX electric SUV was unveiled in its concept form at the Auto Expo 2023, a test mule of the near production-ready model has been spied in Krakow, Poland.

The eVX will have a range of up to 550km on a single full charge and employ a 60kWh battery pack with safe battery technology. SMC signed an agreement with the Gujarat government in March 2022 to invest over Rs 10,000 crore for local manufacturing of EVs and their batteries.
Maruti will have as many as six electric models in its portfolio by FY30, according to the ‘Growth Strategy for FY30’ announced by SMC earlier this year.
