    UTStarcom Highlights Potential of Carrier Wi-Fi, SDN Network, Nextgen Access and Transport

    UTStarcom announced its aggressive plans and product portfolio for transport, aggregation and access networking solutions for Indian market in ‘Nextgen Access & Transport India 2015.’ In line up to the government initiatives like NOFN and Smart City, the company discussed the future of Wi-Fi, Nextgen access and transport in India.

    Organized by Bharat Exhibitions, ‘Nextgen Access & Transport India 2015’ witnessed the presence of experts from the field of telecom, Wi-Fi, Mobile Services, Network Transport and Telecom Infrastructure. Industry leaders including BSNL, Airtel, MTNL, VVNL, Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) Tata Docomo and DEN Network discussed the great industry insights, strategies, demands, and challenges for Superior Digital Highway in India.

    Industry stalwarts including Mr. N.K. Gupta, Director (Consumer Fixed Access), BSNL, Mr. Deepak Sanghi, Vice President (Transport), Bharti Airtel, Shri Sunil Kumar, Director, MTNL, Mr. Chetan Kumar, Vice President, Technical Broadband, DEN Networks Limited shared their views on topics like relevance of FTTx in the era of Mobile Broadband 3G/LTE/ Wi-Fi Technologies and identifying the True Value of SDN and NFV for Carriers.

    Speaking on the future of Wi-Fi and Nextgen access in India and UTStarcom’s role in the same, Mr. Rahul Pandey, Director, Sales & Marketing, SAARC said, “We aim to introduce our core competency, which is the packet optical transport where we have recently introduced 100 Gigabit Ethernet services product – TN765 that we think will be the best solution for the program. In India, we see a huge interest from operators in developing the Carrier Wi-Fi market, along with an interest to SDN/NFV technologies, 4G mobile backhaul and capitalize on Virtualization NFV with mCloud, which we seek to address with our cutting-edge products.”

    Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. Shalin Y. Shah, Head, India Operations, UTStarcom India said, “We are going to proactively promote and educate the market about our Carrier Wi-Fi product line, its unique combination of features and benefits that it offers, through participation in exhibitions and conferences, presence in press, road shows and other activities as relevant. We plan to work closely with major telecom operators, system integrators, and the government. We will also evaluate opportunities in enterprise market in India.”
