In an exclusive interview with Mobility magazine, Mr. Pranay Punjabi, Founder of Xech, shared the product portfolio of his brand, future prospects, and new product launches.
Kindly brief us about yourself.
Our primary focus lies in design and innovation. We pride ourselves in crafting products that embody the latest technological advancements. Our most recent product, Cerebro, is a prime example – an eye, head, and neck massager with Bluetooth capabilities. Another intriguing addition to our portfolio is our eye massager, designed to provide relaxation and improve sleep quality. You can wear it after a long day’s work to unwind while watching TV through the integrated eye slits.
Could you elaborate on whether you hold design patents for these products?
Absolutely, our approach sets us apart. We begin by sketching out our product ideas before moving on to engineering prototypes. This meticulous process takes around 1 to 2 years for each product, resulting in a total of 31 patents that our company currently owns.
Kindly shed some light on where Xech’s products are manufactured?
Our manufacturing is a blend of 60% done in India and the remaining 40% being imported. However, we are on a trajectory towards achieving full self-sufficiency in manufacturing, aiming for an eventual 100% made-in-India production within the next 5 years.
Could you share some insights into the range of products Xech has launched recently?
Our offerings encompass an array of massagers, including the Cerebro, a collection of 11 LED digital clocks inspired by the solar system, and a diverse range of desk lamps. We take pride in being the largest supplier of desk lamps in India, boasting innovations such as magnetic desk lamps, lamps with plant holders, and even illuminated desk organizers. Among other unique products, we offer a tissue holder featuring a 15W wireless charger and plant holders that incorporate self-watering technology, allowing plants to thrive for up to 15 days. Additionally, we have travel kettles that are India’s top choice, boiling water within 2 minutes and including a discreet plug point. Our hand-held vacuum cleaners rank second in the Indian market, known for their convenience and efficiency. Furthermore, our compact speaker with remarkable sound quality and a wireless mic, as well as a train-shaped aroma diffuser with a built-in Bluetooth speaker, are also part of our portfolio.
How do you perceive the Indian market’s potential for growth?
India boasts the world’s largest population, accompanied by an ever-expanding purchasing power. With each passing day, the buying capacity of Indian consumers is on the rise. I firmly believe that in the next decade, India will stand at the forefront, competing vigorously with major global players.
Could you provide insights into where Xech’s manufacturing units are located?
Our manufacturing facilities are situated in Mumbai and Umar Gaon, Gujarat.
Looking ahead, what upcoming innovations can we expect from Xech?
We have an exciting product on the horizon – a tea-making kettle set to be launched next month.
Please tell us about the inspiration behind your products.
Our inspiration often stems from observing trends in the US, where new products frequently make their debut ahead of the curve. We take these innovative concepts and infuse them with an Indian touch, bringing them to our market.
Finally, what are Xech’s future plans?
We’re looking into establishing our own retail stores, starting with a store in Pune. If successful, we intend to replicate this model in various other parts of India.
What message would you like to convey to our readers?
I would encourage everyone to work diligently towards their goals. There’s an immense sense of satisfaction in creating a product from scratch and witnessing its growth and appreciation among consumers.
