Mahindra via its official Twitter handle announced that it will be showcasing its all-new range of next-generation electric SUVs dubbed under the name of Born Electric Vision SUVs at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad on 10th February 2023. The company unveiled the concepts of the all-electric SUVs back in 15th August – Independence Day of 2022.

For those unaware Mahindra has been hyping up the Born Electric SUVs for over a year now and will now finally be bringing these SUVs to Indian soil. The new EVs were first shown to the world with a debut at the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) facility in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, where Pratap Bose, chief designer explained the automakers plan to launch these SUVs.

The Mahindra Born Electric Vision and its SUVs will launched under Mahindra’s two brands, the first will be the famed XUV moniker and the second will be the brand-new BE all-electric sub-brand, which will solely sell electric cars. The SUVs will be manufactured utilizing parts from the Volkswagen MEB platform and are based on Mahindra’s specially designed INGLO platform.

Last year, Mahindra introduced the five electric SUVs. These SUVs will be sold under the company’s two new electric brands, XUV and BE. The Mahindra Twin Peaks emblem will be part of the XUV brand going forward, and ICE and EV versions of the vehicles will be available under this brand. Meanwhile the BE brand, which will only be available for electric vehicles, is a whole different entity that aims to attract new customers to the Mahindra family. The XUV will initially provide two e-SUVs: the XUV.e8 which the company has already shown in great detail.

The first of the five SUVs under the new Born Electric Vision will be the XUV.e8 this will be the electrified iteration of XUV700. According to the company this SUV will be launched in December 2024 and its dimensions will be 4740 x 1900 x 1760 mm. It will also get a wheelbase of 2762 mm. Furthermore, the XUV.e8 will also get an intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
