MeitY Aims to Make India an Electronics Manufacturing Hub by 2026
Dear Readers,
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has formed a 10-member advisory board to make India a USD 300 billion electronics manufacturing hub by 2026. The objectives of this ambitious plan are to create 100 million additional jobs, enhance domestic value-addition and technological depth along with environmental sustainability.
Moving to north-east India, the state of Meghalaya has a potential for the generation of 3000 MW of electricity due to availability of rivers and other water resources. The state also has abundant amounts of coal, granite, industrial clay, uranium, etc which are lying unexploited. The Meghalaya state govt is making serious plans to exploit these natural resources so that it can improve the standards of the local people and also contribute to the overall Indian economy.
Also there seems to be a good progress among the mobile accessories manufacturers in making in India. Most of them are now moving from assembling the imported components to manufacturing as much as possible domestically.
Let us hope the best and contribute whatever we can to make India a self-reliant manufacturing hub.
